Today was our second time hiking, but this time we zigged, last time we zagged. A different trail usually means a different route, with the same features. This was different, it was a whole new adventure. I would recommend these trails to others, it’s challenging, yet rewarding. We brought our 10 year old son and even he enjoyed it.

I love these trails. Sometimes I bring a book and just in my car. Sometimes I take my reading deeper in. Beautiful area where you truly feel tucked away

I hiked it with my 9,3 year and 5 month old. Definitely no stroller.i had my carrier and walk was great. Bugs weren’t bad at all. Watch tower was cool and nature center very educational.

I’m not sure if this trail is MTB only? I think it is, but I walked it anyhow. Beautiful walk through lots of shade and really old and big oak trees! Had to keep my eyes open and alert to get out of the way of the MTBs! Lol. Not too much traffic though, awesome walk!

Tower to Playground near Navy base. there is a lot of trains, jets, and road noise.

Beautiful...bring bug spray

A lot of bugs, so at a minimum wear a hat if hiking; however, that's not why I gave this 2 stars since bugs just come with any nature hike. The 2 stars is due to the considerable and frankly dangerous disrepair of some aspects of the boardwalks or wood bridges. One I was truly concerned to cross due to the rotted plywood over the rotted frame with holes in the flooring. That was the main disappointment and concern.

Nice long trail. Pretty much strictly in the woods. If you venture off you can get to the beach or the lake but nit the actual trail only runs through the woods.

I would do this trail on a cool day. We encountered lots of bugs, LOTS.

This is a great bike trail. Go early it’s hot

Great trail for a quick hike and then beach walk with flip flops.

Got out to the trail about 6am and the yellow flies were beyond unbelievable. we slathered bug spray on us a couple of times but they did not care. at one time my husband hat had about 20 just sitting there looking for skin to bite. lots of new born snakes, most whip or local garden snakes. one "massive" cotton mouth just by the gate to the road. I walked up on him and if he had not of moved I could have just stepped next to him. would not have ended well for the human. he was gorgeous though. happy trails and stay safe...snake season.

Awesome trail! I would agree w the last review, as it is a rather strenuous ride. Tons of roots, sharp turns, narrow bridges, low overhangs, etc. some really nice elevation changes too! If you get there too early in the AM....beware......You will be running into spider webs every 50 feet. Very annoying. But hey... somebody has to clear the path. Will definitely be coming back. What a gem!

Well kept trail. Have enjoyed the trails twice now, both times it was a pleasant. If I were to critique one thing; it would be the markings going in or am I going out.

Note that this is not an Easy trail. It is officially categorized as More Difficult and I agree. It is a fairly narrow trail and it has a few tricky turns, some fairly steep inclines and descends and several roots to add excitement. It is shady throughout and very woodsy. I loved it

Poorly maintained wood trail bridges throughout. Be careful, some are dangerous. On the bright side, we saw a doe on the trail.

Very nice easier hike with full shade and lake views. Proximity to the beach allows you to combine a beach walk or run with the hike to extend it.

Decent running trail around UNF's campus. Slightly overgrown and lots of sand and fire ants make it less than stellar. Decent shade though.

Nice trail with many loops for beginners to experienced hikers. I love the picnic table on the second half of the yellow trail to stop and have food and relax.

The trail was nicely maintained and easy to walk. Most of the trail is shaded which is a plus. The only downside was the ticks, I reccomend good bug spray and a thorough check after the hike.

One of my favorite trails in Jax. Awesome mix of forest and marsh views.

The trail is currently closed by the city of Jacksonville. My guess is they are fixing it up to improve the hiking experience, as they have recently done to the Cedar Point trail.

It can get a little muddy after rainy days, but it’s a beautiful place to visit. By far my favorite trails and scenery in Jax.

This is good for a fun and quick little stroll. We take the kids here every year to do an Easter egg hunt. It's become a family tradition.

We love the trails in this preserve. It is about 5 minutes away from out home and we go there all the time. When the kids go with us we take the dogs so they can exercise as well.

First, a large part of this trail wouldn’t be called “easy” by anybody who’s hiked it. Second, it a great trail all around. In the winter months their are plenty of people who use this trail. It tales off in the summer months significantly. Also you can expect ticks year round and plenty of bugs in the summer. Neither of which take away from the fun. It’s just over four miles if you use the entire thing.

Good trail. Mostly shaded and flat. We saw armadillos and some turtles. Only problem was ticks about a mile in. Dog friendly.
