Beautiful scenery and a peaceful nature walk.

One of the best trails I’ve found and I hike around Sanford also.

Loved it. Beautiful well-defined trails.

loved the "little mountain" with the kids. fun for the entire family, even our furbaby. Beautiful riverview as well.

This is a great trail. Most of it is soil with only a little bit of boardwalk which I like. When you get to the marsh on the return trip be ready for some elevation. It’s an uphill climb! Good stuff.

easy for kids, Fort is about a quarter of the way through, some other exhibits along the way

Very well defined paths with lots of shape. Be careful, lots of tree roots. I’ll be back.

There are so many trails in Jacksonville that I never knew existed. Spent the day out here. 5 different trails to walk. All I can say is WOW. It was so peaceful and beautiful. I think it would be much prettier out there in the spring when all the flowers are in full bloom.

The only thing I can say is that the trails are hard to follow. Otherwise it’s a lot of fun.

Absolutely my favorite trail in Jax to date. Love the elevation as it gets your heart pumping.

Lovely trail. Did all the loops.

Very relaxing hike, with varied distances based on your abilities. Elevation in some areas gets the heart pumping. Lots of wildlife to see, especially early in the morning, or evening hours when its cooler. Watch for snakes.

This was a great hike. Wife and I took our 4 boys(10,7,4,1). It is covered most of the way. Remember your bug spray, watch for the crabs on the marsh side of the loop. We took the trail to the tower to get a great view, it's worth the extra few steps but a lot of people bypass it.

Totally recommend!!

Just happened to find this trail via AllTrails and what a great find! My mom and I really enjoyed our light hike through and managed to put in 3 miles by doing every loop possible. The park is really well maintained and the trails are so well marked, it's easy to know where you are. There are benches throughout if you want to take a break and enjoy nature and some fun sculptures to admire. We'll be going back routinely, as it's a perfect trail for meditative hiking.

This place is great if you want to get out for a few hours. Many different types of terrain. As well as informative plaques. Def worth going. Could be a good time for people with kids and dogs are allowed.

Loved this trail! Bonus: It was free to get in and free parking too! I did all the trails in one continuous go, and I loved it! Totaled to about 2.5 miles. I thought it’d be super crowded on a Saturday but I only ran into a few people during my time there! And it wasn’t super hot either, there’s plenty of shade from the trees and there’s sometimes a nice breeze. Take time to go off trail sometimes and sit on the benches, or read the descriptions under the plants and trees. And keep your eyes peeled for tortoises!! I ran into 3 of them during my hike! Overall, and awesome easy hike!

very beautiful , we had a blast With our dogs, some parts of the trail were muddy from the rain, and we got a few ticks on each of us. But i will be back!

Starts off fairly easy but will pick up once you are in a good ways. Def liked the fact that it was challenging. As well as brings you to many different types of terrain. I’d recommend bug repellent. Other than that it’s a wonderful trail.

Amazingly Beautiful Trails!
I can’t help but be impressed with these trails.
I was very pleased with the condition, variety and simple beauty of the various trails. The trails themselves are very well maintained and there are a variety of skill levels to be had. From a few flat straightaways to many hairpin turns, to the unlimited rises & falls, all while constantly needing to dodge the unlimited obstacles placed in your way. Needless to say, I found the “More Difficult E-Line Loop” more than enough of a challenge for a guy my age.
In addition to the good condition I found the trails to be in, I was blown away by the scenic images I was exposed to. From the beautiful lakes, rivers, trees and friendly woodland creatures- to the not-so-friendly alligators I saw “sunning” themselves atop logs in the water.
I really didn’t expect to be that close to them.
In fact, at one point of the trail, if you fall off your bike to the left side, you will end up in an extremely thick swamp where an alligator is waiting just under the waters’ surface to snack on you or anyone else that may fall into this guys’ territorial waters. YIKES! I’m not kidding folks.
***I would seriously recommend everyone take a buddy with them for company & protection while riding here.
I found the above, as well as the many other amazing experiences I have had here, reason to RAISE my score of this Parks’ Trails rather than lower it. I feel that I (and I think most other Mt. Bikers), choose to ride my bike in the woods for just this reason. If i wanted to ride my bike on a flat concrete surface and see nothing i would be riding in the streets right?
But if you ARE looking for an amazing experience every time you ride your Mt. Bike- this is definitely a great place to ride!

Nice trail - options to make this as long as you want depending on which trail you follow - we went 3.6mi. BRING BUG SPRAY !!! Good for dogs.

Dog friendly trail. But for some they think that means no leash. Keep them on a leash. Leash laws still exist. Ive been hiking this trail for years. Nice and close to home. Nice get away from the hustle and bustle.

Had an amazing time bring one of my dogs here. It’s covered most of the way which is great for keep it cool as well as offer multiple different terrain options. Would recommend for anyone of any level to check this place out.

Outside of the lack of maintenance and the occasional graffiti this trail was a nice quick walk with my dog. Mostly covered allowing him to stay relatively cool in the heat. All in all not a bad walk.

nice trail. very easy to find.

Had a great time taking out the pup. It’s quite open so prepare to deal with the heat. Outside of that it offers many different activities due to its shear size. The foliage is beautiful and the multiple different loops gives you options depending on what mood you are in.

So many bugs. Will be avoiding until the fall/winter when the bugs are gone. Only did half my 3 mile run cuz I was getting ate up.

Beautiful wide trails, nice river view at one end, didn’t go to the plantation but did the whole trail loop. Listed here as 2.9, but on site as 3.2 as well. Definitely would recommend!

Started at the front gate to add more miles. Wish I had this app last weekend. Still have no idea how far we hiked. Beautiful hike and lots of options of views.
