Beautiful wide trails, nice river view at one end, didn’t go to the plantation but did the whole trail loop. Listed here as 2.9, but on site as 3.2 as well. Definitely would recommend!

This is mainly a bike trail with beautiful canopied and open areas. It can be a little hot in the open areas. There are two half mile trails off the pavement to the water front. Parking is $3. We took our dog so we couldn’t go on the shoreline.

Mostly shady, well cared for trails, lots of butterflies and birds, even 3 peacocks! Trail back to plantation could have been better marked as the trail to the water at the north end would require one to walk along the steep beach back to the plantation visitors center. Very well kept National park however! Well worth the time.

Very sandy in areas, pretty sure I ran in circles at times, saw heaps of wild life- Birds, turtles, and a huge snake.

This is great walk but I would rate it as Easy. The trail is well groomed, wide, an almost entirely level except for the optional hill at the end. Wonderful view of the marsh.

The boardwalk is broken and we didn't notice the tiny sign acknowledging it. Doubt we will be back

Well maintained, clean and open. Nice foliage!
Take a picture of the map at the trailhead... the north side loop is a little tricky.

Nice, easy walk— would be great with young kids.

Quiet enjoy hike through nature at sunrise!

Trail is mostly paved and shaded. The bridge to the water was closed for repairs (3/24/18). Over all nice short hike with family.

Dock extending out to river is closed due to hurricane damage. Nice quick walk but not a ton to see.

Easy to find, easy parking and well maintained. Also has a covered picnic area by a play park for the kids to enjoy.

We drove up and parked. If you're not a pass holder, you'll need to get an envelope from the deposit box and leave $3. Tear off the stub and hang on your rearview mirror. I took one of my dogs on a Friday morning around 0930. We saw maybe 4 bikers. The paved trail is awesome. Lots of room for bikers to go around you. We walked about 2 miles and took a right and walked another .5 miles to the "beach side" where lots of downed trees are. It's sandy and very beautiful. People started flocking to the area around 11am. Clean, lots of trees and bushery. This will be a regular place to take my dogs for a nice and relaxing walk.

Great trails for dog walks. Island trail usually has mud and standing water near the end.

Short trail but well maintained.

Hiked to the lookout tower for great view of the Ortega river. Easy and relaxing. Trail was muddy in a few places and had some difficulty following the trail markings on the way back.

there is a bench to sit on at the waterfront, perfect for a little break and a picnic lunch

Very Sandy, no single track, nothing to see to distract from the boring double track while pushing thru tons of sand

Very easy boardwalk hike.

Nice 6.5 mile hike on a well traveled trail. We didn't see any wildlife on this trail but they had just completed a controlled burn.

Love it! Always see different wildlife!

This is a nice hike, saw a brown bunny.

Very nice little hike.

Nice and quiet is definitely right. Beautiful scenery. Trail needed a little upkeep.

It was a nice easy trail. Completely paved from one end to the other except the boardwalk. Nice views. If you go later in the day, watch out for cars where they’re not supposed to be. It was right at dusk and a sedan came zipping by me. I had to step off quickly into the grass to dodge them. Trail runs next to relatively busy road for the most part. Highly recommend going down to the beach to see all of the driftwood. Very beautiful!

Easy to find & follow. Surprising trail for being in the middle of Jax. There is another 1 mile trail near this trail that takes you to a lookout tower you can go to the top of. We went a day after a heavy rain, so was muddy for about 1/4-1/2 a mile. Best to do during dry season or with mucklucks ;) Shaded park, large fenced dog run area & nature center near trailhead! Good trail for kids & dogs.

Nice short hike. Get to see woodlands,Marsh and river scenery. The only drawback was alot of trash in a few areas.

January: the trail map is worthless. reportedly, there is a 3mi trail, a 6mi trail and several shorter ones. NONE are marked well. And at least today, every trail I tried was eventually under water. Would not do this hike in the heat of the summer as there is absolutely no shade. And definite gator prints seen in the sand- that was my highlight.

Quick 3 mile winter hike. Was here a few months ago and the trail was very wet in some parts. It seems to have dried up quite a bit. I saw a couple people with strollers and lots of dogs. A few kids, and a few trail runners. I’d say it’s an overall good trail for anyone.

Excellent walking trail, clear and wide.
Trails are clearly marked and km/mi markers to let you know how far you have traveled.
Runners, bicycles and horses use this trail. There is plenty of parking and port-a-let and trail sign at the trail head.
