HikingFeeFloodedNo shade

The majority of the trail is completely flooded. Ankle deep water most of the way. Anybody else notice the crabs running around toward the SW section? Sun definitely beats down on you the majority of the loop. Fun trail. Not much wildlife.

Walking

This loop has pretty views most of the way. There were a few nice shady spots and beautiful docks out over the lake. The little bridges/boardwalks are fun to walk on and make you feel like you’re in a swampy forest for a minute. There are high amounts of bird poop all over but it is a bird sanctuary soooooooo....

WalkingGreat!No shade

There is no shade on this trail but it’s a nice path for a stroll or jog if you don’t mind the sun or the traffic all around. It doesn’t feel very naturey but the fitness stations add a fun element.

This trail is not for biking. Three problems - very loose sand, knee deep water puddle, mosquitoes. you have walk your bike for these sandy areas. I understand there will be water puddles during rain. but two of the many is so deep that my crank got submerged. there is zero warnings that's what made me sad. Even though it is nature trial I will say poor maintainance. mosquitoes all over the trial mostly because of that puddles. Beach & paved trial is good but there are many beaches that's far better than this. only thing I will go here in future is for caladesi island ferry.

HikingBugsFeeGreat!

This is a nice, easy interpretative trail. It is well-maintained and the facilities at the trailhead are excellent. This would be a great trail to bring your kids for a hike. Don't forget to sign in and out at the trailhead kiosk and grab a map if you're interested in reading about the various numbered points of interest along the trail. The mosquitoes were swarming when I visited, so I recommend bringing a strong bug spray.

I really like this trail. It’s short, but very nice. Well shaded and dry. Great option during the rainy season
