Paved walkways along the Halifax River but much of it runs along busy Beach Street. Not the most relaxing walk but it’s a good location for a quick walk if you don’t have a lot of time. There’s a nice breeze on the right day.

Small island park in the Halifax River just off the main strip on Beach Street. Probably a nice spot to walk the dog (it is a dog park), but not a lot to see.

A little rough but large dog park with a nice paved loop. There’s a small playground. When I visit there were two homeless guys (they weren’t a bother but nonetheless they were there).

Nice little park. Would be a great place to bring a dog, large dog park in center of park. Free street parking. Cement walking trail with river views.

Good 2 miler for a dog walk. Trail was well marked and well maintained.

This is a nice short hike through the forest. We have taken the kids on this trail a couple of times now. If you like the forest you will enjoy this easy short hike. I don't think they should charge $2 per person though.

Finally a non paved trail. Many of the trails around here are paved, which sucks. There is a fee of 2$ per person. Still a decent trail. I am glad it felt more to what I am used to (being in the mountains). Interesting points and friendly markers of each tenth of a mile helped. Marked well. Nice lake over at the beginning. Trail just looped around and came back to the beginning, at least what I saw. Many spiders however... went just after a rain. And bugs were annoying. 3 stars because of difficulty/scenery/enjoyment. Wasn’t really hard, some cool views but nothing special, and I enjoyed it. It is a good trail for something out here.

nice in mid October ticks are to a minimum. no potable water source. lots of turkey and deer great for photos

Great trail:)! Comes with a little pamphlet about local vegetation you will encounter along the way, it’s even numbered along the path so you can’t miss the designated description. Great information for families that are into that sort of thing. We took four kids, and were able to take a stroller the entire way! Very secluded feeling :)

Love this track. Make sure to bring some water

This trail is only 1.6 miles. Not much to see. No wildlife to speak of. Constant gunfire from the local range. Easy marked trail for a quick hike.

easy trail, few wild life on my first time out

Saturday, February 25, 2017

Honestly I was fairly bored on this trail. No ponds, lakes, or water anywhere. If you like interpretive trails it's probably good, but I found it fairly barren and boring. No like other than birds that I saw. I did see some deer tracks, but that was it.

Not really anything to see, not very exciting

Decent trail for the area. Pretty boring when your used to exciting trails anywhere else. Saw a turtle and a bunch of grasshoppers!!

It was a nice short trail. I would definitely bring the bug spray though. At the end of the loop is an old turpentine camp. I looked around but really didn't see anything other than an old gate
