very nice to go in March, cool breezes and had the place to ourselves

A few small hills on this well maintained wooded loop.

I think this Trail would have been great if it wasn't so muddy. also one of the trails, the sea hawk Trail, it's not due to water.

Nice trail. Mostly bikers. I hike alone and this was a very pleasant hike.

nice hike a little muddy my only complaint would be this trail is not well marked at all by that I mean we saw a trail marker maybe every.... half hour the only thing that helped was actually the all trails app at one point we were thought we were lost I looked at the app saw our little icon moving on the map and knew we were just fine

Hiked this recently as one of my first trails in a long time since I'm getting back into the hobby. It's nice overall. Downside kind of goes without saying in Delaware in that everything is small, so you're never really far out of earshot of cars on the road.

But there are a few really nice moments. Walking through the salt marsh is quite nice - at least in early spring. I'm sure bugs will be a-plenty once the weather warms. Beyond cutting through the salt marsh, the nicest parts of the trail are seeing some of the World War II history around.

As of 3/7 there is a lot of maintenance going on in the park. Several places on the trail were closed and I used the trail map to find alternate routes around. I would love to come back in better conditions, but for now, I wouldn’t recommend this hike unless you live close by. There is a fair amount of noise from passing cars and heavy equipment (eg chain saws) associated with trail maintenance and nearby properties. This area is more of a lightly wooded park than a forest trail. Great for trail running, especially once they finish the maintenance.

Note: my phone went dead during the recording, so take that into account if you review it for time and distance.

Nice loop around the pond. Flat. Mostly dirt trail but a few paved and gravel areas near the campground and disc golf /boat rental. Not sure why but a portion of the trail was closed behind the campground. I went through campground and caught the trail again at the boat ramp. Also, what is up with all the dog crap? Gross. First time I've seen it like this.

Decent walk. Not very natural. All paved. The kiosks every half mile or so are neat.

Trail is well marked and in great shape. Rolling hills, forests, bridges and streams. Snowy today.

hiked part of the trail but could not do the entire so took connected trail and double back to the jersey trail and then service road to parking lot.

Nice paved, dry trail, a good choice if it's been rainy. Elevation change is closer to 160 feet, not 84 feet (lowest spot is 190 feet at parking lot, crest is at 350 feet).

There is so much wrong with this trail. First, it’s definitely a horse trail more than a hiking trail. Horses have left divots 10 inches deep the entire width of the trail making the mud 100 times worse. There is no scenery on this trail- just a bunch of steepish hills that end in nothing. There’s no payout at the end, just turn around at a road and walk back. There’s a ton of horse manure and dog poop along with so much trash (apparently no one understands carry in/out). This isn’t really a hiking trail. Very disappointed in this trail. Oh- and there’s NO first state monument as the map shows so don’t expect that! And it’s definitely not “lightly trafficked”- we saw nine people within the first quarter mile and stopped counting after that. Will never do this one again.

Not the most picturesque trail but an easy and quiet one to get some long miles in. Well maintained pavement & boards.

Awesome trail to be on in the middle to late January when there’s no bugs hardly any people. I wouldn’t go in the summer time to save my life. I was reading the previous reviews and I couldn’t stop laughing from everybody complaining that when U go during the months of April through October every review said they would get torn up by mosquitoes. Chiggers,No See’ems  what did you expect.People. Do these trails during the winter months and they’re absolutely gorgeous

This trail was nice and scenic, good for our dog - although she did get incredibly muddy. Luckily, the lake is nearby to rinse off!

Great birds and herps, but the bugs were truly awful.

Close to this city, but a natural area.
