nice scenic especially when leaves are turning in fall.

As you can see I started off on the trail & went back. So I didn’t technically complete this one. My friends pup had other plans in mind.

Very good for walking or inexperienced bikers

This is how I praise God in his church, the earth, not in a building.

“That’s not mud, that’s horse poo”, she said.

Thrill seekers need not apply. This is such a good ride. It’s not difficult at all and anyone can do this trail. At the start of the trail, there’s crushed stone on the trail and it’s super smooth. At some point you reach a set of corn fields, this is the most annoying part of the trail because stalks of corn litter the trail and it makes for a bumpy ride. However, it’s short so it’s not that bad. Most of the trail is actually in shade but you can’t tell that from the beginning. My wife and I did this trail in 45 minutes, which is a new record for us as we typically do the up & down type trails. Coincidentally, it’s the longest trail we’ve done at 7.8 miles. But because it’s such a smooth trail, our average speed is double. Give this one a try on a day you want a smooth ride, you won’t regret it. It’s kid friendly as well.

Easy trail. Mostly shaded. Well used, there are a few places that the trail isn’t well marked, I just kept the pond in my right and kept walking!!

Mostly shaded not very buggy. Walked up on some wildlife. Did the hike with my 2 year old in a Kelty bag and he enjoyed it!

This trail was a wonderful surprise. We hiked the trail starting at lot number 3 and took our time. Took us about three hours. We stopped and rested at the benches and took some great pictures. Bring plenty of water to drink and bring wet wipes in case you have girls who need to use the porta potty at the boat ramp that is close to the half way point. Highly recommend this trail.

we do love this trail. last time we went was in the winter before the leaves came out. it was a brand new trail with all of its foliage.

Great trail. Mostly marked well but can be a little confusing at times. If planning on trail running, there are spots to run but a lot of the trail is unsafe with a lot of tree roots. went middle of the day and only saw three other people.

Great trail! A mixture of different scenery which is nice! However this is an 8 mile hike, not 6.

The trail is predominately on asphalt and concrete. We began our ride at the Michael Castle Parking Lot and rode north. The path breaks up along the way as you approach the restaurant GrainH20 and you have to travel in a steep incline on what looks to be an abandoned road. Once at the top, the trail picks up again and has markers. Once you travel down the path a little more you end up at the Chesapeake and Delaware Canal. The ride is smooth and the view is nice. It’s especially nice on a breezy day as you’re exposed to direct sunlight for a large portion of the Canal ride. There are some offset trail lines on the map that don’t quite match the actual trail. We took a 45 degree offset that lead us up a trail for vehicles, we ended up turning around and headed back. I don’t really recommend the trails off the beaten path, there are a lot of high weeds, water & mud. I wouldn’t be surprised if there were a lot of ticks in these areas. All in all, a fun trip.

Easy, pretty run around the water. Dry, except for a few muddy spots.

I love this trail for it’s wooded view, birds and peacefulness. Get way to destress while exercising my dog.

Great leisurely hike around the pond. Pretty muddy today but typically would be nice packed mostly flat.

Nice loop around the pond. Flat. Mostly dirt trail but a few paved and gravel areas near the campground and disc golf /boat rental. Not sure why but a portion of the trail was closed behind the campground. I went through campground and caught the trail again at the boat ramp. Also, what is up with all the dog crap? Gross. First time I've seen it like this.
