Gorgeous little waterfalls, pretty easy hike

The trail can be a little tricky, especially when all the leaves are off the trees. There are places where the loop crosses close to another part of the trail and I got myself turned around. Also it’s pretty rocky in places which was tough on my old dog. All in all a decent trail. I’d try it again.

Hiked out by Buttermilk Falls today with the pups. Was beautiful out even in the rain. Trails are nice when it’s wet and nobody is out, but be careful, it gets slick out there with all the leaves and moss. Very pretty stretch, covered woods, but hiking along the waterfall was soothing. Easy trail. I did a good swath in a walking boot.

Really liked this trail. Super quiet, not busy, and marked really well.

Nice little hike. Make sure to wear boots as it is very rocky in places.

We love to do this trail when we don't have a ton of time. Start at Peterson Park and continue until you get to a bridge and some falls. The trail can go farther or loop back to where you parked. That way is easy, quick, and lots of water access for the dog to play in. We've even snow shoed here in the winter.

It was a great place to walk and enjoy nature. I have some physical disabilities, and I was able to do approximately 2.5 miles.

The Mattatuck Trail is a lot longer than 2.3 miles! It goes all the way to Mohawk Mountain in Cornwall.

great trail with pretty scenery... a little too crowded though. not a trail you can let your dog off leash to stretch his legs.

Awesome Hike for all levels. I help maintain this trail, if you see something not quite right let me know!

Section between Rt 6 (Thomaston rd) and Rt. 8: Some steep sections but a nice hike through the woods. About midway the trail enters this pine forest with lots of moss covered rock outcrops and crevices. This section is rather long and would take hours in just one direction. This trail has lots of great photo opportunities (rocks, moss, trees) that I have not seen on other hikes.
