Pleasant hike, not too hard, nice river and other interesting features, as well as a nice overlook.

Beautiful walk with my dog!

Very cool trail with some nice views along the way. Parking is limited if you park on Route 6. Definitely want to go again

At first, the trail is easy, then there is a moderate ascent, and it is steep at the very end. Overall, not too hard, and there are great views at the overlook.

I love this Mtn. I put hiking down. However there is far more to do... My SAR/ADA Dog

Lots of History fun to Explore. My wife and I were there on a Sunny Day a few days after a March Snow Storm. Every thing looked picturesque.

Great for trail running!l Loop is 4.5 miles. This is a gravel trail for the most part. Follow signs to Bluff Point to Sunset Rock to Mumford Cove. You will love the views too!

Fairly gradual hike up an wide, dirt road. We went on one of the first warm days of Spring, and the crowds were unbelievable. The tower at the top felt like a party, with probably 50 people crammed onto the top level. This would make a decent hike on a day with less people, but it wouldn’t be phenomenal.

Nice hike, didn’t take long to complete. Will definitely go back with the dog.

This trail needs an update. It is no longer a loop, & a quick hour hike turned into a 3 hour into sunset in high 30°end-to-end. I ended up getting a ride back to trail head from a local resident, who said he'd grown up hiking there, and confirmed it's no longer a loop.

I love how it connected to the Day Pond Trail!

Good for a quick weekday walk in the woods or easy hike if you are in the area. Beware of dog turds. Also, leaf blowers can be heard which kind of ruins the solitude. You know you’ve made it in America when you can pay people to use leaf blowers early in the morning on your lawn just to keep up appearances.

Easy trail with the dog. About 10 minutes in there was a bug attached to his face. Might’ve been a tick but we managed to get it off. One side is fairly muddy and wet but the other side is dry and has a nice clearing of the reservoir.

Great day on the trail today. The waterfall was amazing. Definitely in our top 3 hikes in CT, so far!!!

Enjoyable, I'll try it again in the summer for hopefully better scenery.

Perfect spot for a run!

Easy simple trail. There is two ways to go up, going to the right you will do loop, going to the left it will be in and out type of hike.

beautiful view

I don’t know if it is supposed to be a secret to be discovered on your own once you get here, because two minutes into my walk I realized that the green grass and trees around me was a run down golf course and I was walking on a cart path. I have not seen anyone mention this on any of the posts. It was a good walk with enough hills to stretch the legs.

Great trail. I took the dog and it was great for her! Lots of beautiful views, babbling brooks and some fairly good inclines. A little wet so hiking boots were a good choice. We did blue to white to red. No bugs at this time so fantastic day for this one!

A favorite trail in SW Connecticut. Lots of climbing and descending on technical trail. Hard wood and hemlock groves. A steep brook with one significant waterfall and several minor. A great technical trail run, but keep your eyes on the trail or risk a hard fall. Roots, rocks, fun.

Loved it. Rain and all!

Great medium effort hike. Nice views. I would not recommend going down the north side without crampons until end of winter. It is an ice fall now.

Not a difficult hike by any stretch, however the outer loop hugs the river for quite some time, making it a lovely hike for water lovers. We went when the ground was still quite thick with snow, but based on the limited elevation we didn’t struggle with ice/slipping. Will definitely do it again and perfect for those that are trying to get their kids into hiking.

great hike, it was very wet and muddy the day I went, part of the trail bring you right down the middle of a brook. the hardest part is definitely from castle Craig to the towers. awesome hike overall and very well marked and easy to follow.

I’m not writing a review I’m just saying why can’t I find the mine?!? Tried to go look for some garnet today was walking along the water not sure what I was looking for, took a slip and fall and sprained my ankle. That’s what I get for going off the beaten path right after all the snow melted.... guess I’ll be waiting til summer. Ouch

Loved it. Wetlands so probably best to go in the fall or early spring when bugs aren’t an issue, but nice easy going and beautiful views.

It was well marked until you near the river. Then just bushwhack to it. There is a horse ring that seems out of place but it’s a nice way to spend an hour.
