Good moderate day hike. Couple of old ruins to check out along the way. Not well marked in some places though. Paper trail maps are never available and the hand drawn map at the entrance is not to scale so be sure to download the map ahead of time.

This has always been one of my favorite running trails. It is lightly trafficked and the chances of running into someone are slim. The trail is not overly technical, but you have to watch your footing in many spots. I can’t speak to the views because I am usually back in the woods, but you can always get in your car afterwards and find some nice scenery.

Bow hunting is something to be keenly aware of. There are several areas the trail goes through that are open to bow hunting (just in the fall). Just yesterday I crested a hill and saw something to my right (I thought it was Bigfoot!) and it turned out to be a bow hunter in full camouflage heading to his car. We waived and kept moving. I would wear some type of blaze orange/high-vis shirt and/or hat so you are more visible. From a distance a hunter will only hear your footsteps!

Beautiful day 9/1. Only 2 cars when I arrived at 9:30 am. Big hike for me, had a blast. There are a couple downed trees, but you climb or walk around. I would go back again. When I left at 12 there were more than 15 cars parked.

Good if you live in Fairfield County and don’t feel like driving too far to get into the woods for exercise...some broken glass at the only lookout spot, though.

Great and local. As another commenter said, lots of bugs in Spring/early Summer. Almost none in fall.

Nice lake. Some rocks for kids to scramble up. Great vibe as other hikers share the road, parking lot, and trails.

Very pretty, but make *sure* you bring your bug spray!

Great trails. Good year round. Well blazed.

Nice trail, not a lot of traffic. Beautiful trail for colors in the fall. Family friendly, took a bunch of kids ages 8-12 and it wasn’t too strenuous for them.

One of my favorite trails. Lots of variety and scenery to explore. This is my go to spot either with the kids or a lone expedition.

Easy walk in the woods.

Not sure why this is labeled as difficult--the terrain was pretty much flat and well groomed and the markets were very easy to follow. A good place for trail running.

I loved this trail. Unfortunately we went later in the afternoon so we did not get a chance to complete the entire loop but for what we did walk; it was beautiful and so peaceful. I would highly recommend it.

Trail was well maintained. There are several different trails with connectors in between so it turns into a choose your own adventure. The trail head has a large map and a sign in book. Take a map with you you will need it to find your way around the different connections. Not difficult at all. No great views from the "vista" but the pond/lake was awesome. BRING BUG SPRAY!!! Sprayed down before venturing out and had to reapply several times to avoid the swarming mosquitos! Overall great experience.

I did a short out/back from Davis Hill Dr to Rt 53. Excellent short hike with just the right balance of challenge and relaxation. There were a few changes of elevation that were fairly steep, but short, and a few sections of rocky/uneven terrain. The shore of the Saugautuck Resevior makes a great place to stop and catch your breath.
