Explore the most popular birding trails near Stamford with hand-curated trail maps and driving directions as well as detailed reviews and photos from hikers, campers and nature lovers like you.

Way too many different little trails, easy to get lost. 2 and a half hours total, easy/easy-moderate, very few steep hills. Good markings. Good amount of dogs (must be leashed).

One of my fave spots with the pup though signage is confusing - no blazes just names and signs are wonky so I always get lost. Always. But I always find my way out eventually too. Great river playing for Dogs too. Easy enough but a beautiful space

Nice trail for a walk in the woods. I wouldn’t call this a hiking trail because most of it is flat with a path large enough to drive a car.

If you are located in greater new york area( Norwalk, Stamford) and if you want to go trekking early morning and come back by noon. this is the place. Good option for unplanned hike. Just grab your shoes , water bottle and go. The trail is a nice long walk covered all in the trees and some part along side river. In the end you return satisfied after hitting 5 miles mark in your health tracker.. Total trek time is 2 Hrs but there r other trails too if you want to go for a shorter trek

Nice trail

Clean and a small trail neatly maintained.

Beautiful walk with my dog!

Not a difficult hike by any stretch, however the outer loop hugs the river for quite some time, making it a lovely hike for water lovers. We went when the ground was still quite thick with snow, but based on the limited elevation we didn’t struggle with ice/slipping. Will definitely do it again and perfect for those that are trying to get their kids into hiking.

Great hike! well marked, nice views of the river! plan to go back for snowshoeing!

I guess I need to download the map. I couldn’t find the one big loop but I did walk on a lot of short trails - in & out- over bridges, rocks, around trees. There was a gravel path but it said authorized vehicles only.

Lots of different trails. Very pretty.

I am new to trail running and loved this! I would actually consider it easy,. I followed the yellow trail and it was clearly marked. I like the wooden signs that tell you all the trail names, I would’ve taken some but was afraid of getting lost and not knowing how far it was. I wish there were maps along the way.

Very easy, peaceful trail.

Great trail! Lots of mileage and felt very safe with all the people/dogs

This was definitely not a moderate trail for hiking - I'd rate this trail very easy. But there are a lot of off-shoot loop trails so there's a lot of mileage. And seeing all the dogs was great!

its a good trail along riverside and nature at its best

great place although while dogs supposed to be on leashes, 90% of dogs are not. Very dangerous...not only they can mess up your on leash dog, your therapy dog or service dog , they can knock down a child or elderly person while being " friendly"'as the owners always mention...when you ask people to leash their dogs, they just ignore it...very rude

Chill place to just walk and relax

First time here. Well marked trails with many options for distance. We did the long (yellow) trail. We are beginner hikers but do a lot of walking. It took 1.5 hours to hike the 4.5 miles. There were areas of rock to walk through. Completely wooded with river views during some of the walk. Here is a link to park map. http://www.friendsofmianusriverpark.org/park/mrptrailmap/MRP-TrailMap-2015.pdf

A great mountain biking trail, albeit challenging at times (at least for me!).

The yellow loop (5 miles) provides more than enough technical parts (roots, rocks, steep climbs) to keep you entertained, and there are dozens of small single tracks that maze through the forest.

Parking is very limited so I would avoid evenings and weekends given this park is right in the middle of the (relatively for CT) densely populated Stamford/Greenwich area.

It was fairly easy but a really nice trail along the river

Unfortunate name but great trail. Minus one star due to lack of parking.

Nice enough trail. Some parts are right in people's back yards.
