Easy for all skill levels. not wheelchair accessible. Dogs must be on leash, there are several streets close by and residential areas with dogs.

Nice easy walk with a beautiful Gorge. Busy road sounds are audible for much of the trail though.

Unfortunately if you come the day after it rains, the drainage is a bit poor so within 1/4 if a mile in, the gravel trail is completely impassable due to deep mud the entire width of the trail. Otherwise it’s a really pretty trail and the birds were chirping. I hope to come back when it’s drier.

Went for a Post-Thanksgiving walk with the family.

I fear I’m not a good enough navigator for this one! No blazes, many different intersecting trails...just spent half an hour getting oriented and ended up back at my car. will try again and report back.

great place to hike or mountain bike. very well marked with great views of the Housatonic River.

great place to meditate

Very nice scenic Trail. But it would be nice if all of the access points to the trail were added to the map.

Great views from the fire tower in fall. The pond trail left is an easier hike

interesting hike with a small river gorge containing a covered bridge and some nice waterfalls. Further inland is a boardwalk and ultimately a climb to a watchtower. the loop wraps up with a descent through cool woodlands to a pond. Moderate climbs and descents and the varied sights are the highlights.

it's a flat, former rail line, with very nice scenery. great for running and walking

Hiked with my 6 year old daughter. We found a bunch of heart shaped rocks & leaves. So we named it heart trail. Nice walk. Only downside was the lady with her dog off leash that ran at us and kept barking. According to the lady "it's a puppy." Too bad puppies can't read -dogs should be on a leash Other than that. Nice trail

Crappy markings but good moderate trail

This was a nice moderate trail. There were two trees down blocking the path which was a minor inconvenience. Markings could be updated. Generally a nice hike.

Nice flat pathway. Good dog walking trail

Did 5.2 miles from Pope to Rigg and back this morning between 5 and 7 am. Would have given it 5 stars but it was a bit swampy between OXC and Rigg. I was swatting bugs off of me for a while over that section of the trail.

Great walk took my grandkids age 4&6 and they loved it. Covered bridge, boardwalk and tower.

It's a nice easy hike and I loved the little watchtower. It can be done with kids.

Great 10 mile path through the woods with a lake, river and lots of nice scenery along the way.

I wanted to walk here this morning with my leashed dog. Unfortunately there are several signs asking to leave pets, fishing poles and bikes at home. If you want to hike here, leave your pup at home.

Nice hike, pretty river/waterfall. Beautiful lake. Also a good place to go sledding with the kids when there's snow on the ground. My dog loves it.

Did the first couple miles today starting in Southbury. I thought it was kind of boring. Probably mostly use by locals taking their dog for a walk. I'll probably check out more of the trail another day. It has to get better.

Park information: Audubon Center Bent of the River is a 700-acre nature sanctuary with over 15 miles of trails. I enjoy the different sceneries of wood, open areas and river views. Trails are well kept. Trail maps are available at the trail head. There is enough parking space for approx. 20 cars - though I have never seen more than 4.
