Nice hike although many trees are down along the route so either around, over or under was a regular decision. Beautiful waterfall at the beginning of the trail.

My dog and I went on this hike two days ago. I would definitely say this hike it more of a beginner one than a moderate one, for the terrain. For those looking to hike it, definitely download the map before you do. There were a few times a couple trails intersected and I was thankful for the map. I do have to say I thoroughly enjoyed the purple trail to the river. The river spot is really pretty and seems perfect for a picnic. I didn't enjoy the red trail as much, so next time I'll probably take the purple to the water and back to the parking lot. The trails were the best I've been on so far, super maintained and really well marked!

Good hike, more buggy than I expected. Trail is pretty well defined but in some parts it is definitely not as clear, most likely due to the storm. I went off trail two times and went back to find the trail. The fire tower has an okay view, you can’t see much with all the trees in the way. Also, some parts have trees in the way that you have to go underneath/above and it’s a fun adventure. Wish the trail was better marked at some parts, but overall I really enjoyed this short and quick hike.

Really liked this spot. Lots of parking, picnic tables, and pretty views even if you just hang around the entrance. Pretty waterfalls and rock formations, and covered bridge. I did the big loop, beginning on the covered bridge part with my 12 year old and our dog. It’s a good, moderate hike that’s a little more challenging (and fun!) due to all the downed trees and tornado damage. There are a few spots where the markings aren’t super clear - we got slightly off track towards the southern part. All in all, a great spot!

Love this trail!

Great for a walk in the woods, I’d call it easy - not moderate.

Great place for picnic, or just to enjoy the beauty of nature

The trail was in good shape. We were following the red trail but somewhere along the way, we ended up on a yellow trail and we hiked 4.95 miles instead of the 3 miles as stated. At the end, I jumped into the river which was an excellent end to our long hike.

Great trails although some are currently closed due to tornado damage. This is Audubon property and dogs are not allowed even on a leash.

we did this as an alternative to Kettletown state park trails being closed. We were looking for an "easy" hike in the area to take my parents that were visiting for the week.
The Hike end up a tad less "easy" because of the obstacles due to the tornados that recently hit CT (5/15/18), the north part of the trail is still no clean, so many trees are blocking the trail and you have to find your way around.
But it was fun for us and them and they end up with some "adventurous" pictures :D.

Pleasant trails that loop up and around the state park. Nice water front area to eat lunch or swim. Took me about 2 hours to cruise through all the trails.

This was a good trail. Really short. There were a ton of trees down due to the tornado and it made the trail impassable at parts. I did a lot of scaling! My dog was able to stay off leash since it wasn’t busy.

Beautiful trail, nice and easy. Went right after tornadoes so it was a bit of an obstacle course maneuvering trees but I would 100% go back again.

Easy for all skill levels. not wheelchair accessible. Dogs must be on leash, there are several streets close by and residential areas with dogs.

Nice easy walk with a beautiful Gorge. Busy road sounds are audible for much of the trail though.

Unfortunately if you come the day after it rains, the drainage is a bit poor so within 1/4 if a mile in, the gravel trail is completely impassable due to deep mud the entire width of the trail. Otherwise it’s a really pretty trail and the birds were chirping. I hope to come back when it’s drier.

Went for a Post-Thanksgiving walk with the family.

I fear I’m not a good enough navigator for this one! No blazes, many different intersecting trails...just spent half an hour getting oriented and ended up back at my car. will try again and report back.
