overgrown bushes on trail, not really passable:(

Wonderful place! I just wish the blazes were better marked. I got lost for 30 minutes, which isn’t long in the scheme of things, but it made me anxious. Eventually, I found my way out.

very horrible markings.

It's a nice park. We hiked up to the viewpoint. It wasn't too difficult. I would say it's more easy than moderate. I wasn't expecting to have to walk behind so many properties though.

Did this hike today and it was HOT and HUMID but I still wouldn't consider it a hard hike. Depending on what trail you decide to take it could be anywhere from easy to moderate but even going up to the Pine Mountain View in today's heat and humidity was not difficult. This place has something for everyone and the maps are very informative and in color which helps. We did the yellow to blue to red to Ives to yellow creating our own trail. The best view is at Pine Mountain off the Ives trail. Would go back and explore more again.

I would not say it deserves a rating of difficult at all. However it is a great family hike the everyone could enjoy. It starts off walking down next to a lake and into the woods, the continues inward until you reach a large hill/cliff side. You will hike up the right of it and find yourself at the top of the mountain. The views are good not great, for the work you put in the view is worth it. Large sitting area on a flat rock at the top to sit and maybe eat. I’ve done the hike about 10 times and it’s still “fun” even now.

Better for mountain biking than hiking

Rocky, hilly terrain with nice vistas from the peaks and marshes in the lowlands. Look forward to returning with my dog.

I’d call this more moderate than hard, few scrambles that can be tricky but just be mindful and it’ll be worth the effort. The summit is gorgeous, perfect place to unwind and appreciate nature. Few lakes around with a nice view too.

Trail around Bennet's poind is one of the most beautiful in the area!

Poor markers foe trails. Many are missing. With trails covered in leaves, its almost impossible to discern the trails. Alltrails app saved me, allowing me to see my location vis-a-vis the trails on the map and cutting through the forest to reach one of the trails. But in case of some low emergency such as impending rain or darkness, you may find yourself completely lost due to the poor trail markings.

Family hike. Absolutely beautiful! Challenging for me and my wife (while toting the kids) and we are definitely planning on returning to explore more of the trails!

Nice south east to south west views. Easy to moderate trails

The Bennett Pond State Park is absolutely gorgeous. Mountain biking is on the harder side as there are many sections that require more technical skills. i don't have them so I ended up walking/carrying my bike in quite a few places. on balance - maybe better to do on foot, at least for me.
The trail itself is very nice. it feels remote in a number of places and even has a nice view at the top. That's something that's somewhat rare in wooded Connecticut. you can even see Long Island Sound from one outlook.
Trail markings are not always clear, though the combination of blazes and GPS worked out just fine.

Great Sunday hike. I would not rate it difficult. Starts out as a beautiful walk around the lake, then you have a fast incline. My GPS showed only a 366 ft. Elevation gain. Watch the trail markers carefully. We did white to white/orange to blue to yellow and then to white. A little treck throng marsh land to meet back up with the white trail! Have fun... BTW.. we ended up at 4.16 miles. We lost the trail for a very short time, but the loop is longer than 3 miles.

Nice hike - lovely varied new england type hike with soft leaf underfoot and tall trees with dappled sunlight. A moderate hike with lots of options to make longer or shorter. Beautiful part walks next to Bennett's Pond.

Good trail, nice shade, rocky at points, a few pretty views of shrinking lake.

nice hike with a couple view points. not hard at all, at least not like breakneck. to me it's more of a easy to moderate hike. great for taking your dog!

I'm not really a runner but I like to run when I can't get any other workout in. I've been wanting to hit this trail for awhile and it was a perfect challenge. Three miles with a really good climb that I had to walk up in a few spots. It can be a goal to run the whole thing! Thankfully, I had this app to keep me on course as the trail markings are light in spots so I questioned my decisions at times.

Beautiful trail but path is not well maintained in some areas and narrow in some spots. Lots of brush, weeds, grass, overgrown shrubs, poison ivy, poison oak so be cautious and dress appropriately. Mostly shaded which is nice. Some areas are rocky. Our puppy loves hiking but he was covered in ticks on this trail. No trash bins located anywhere near the entrance or around the trail.

It's a beautiful property but the trails have really grown in over the years.

Great location for birding. I've seen Indigo Buntings in the open field and numerous ducks, geese and herons in the pond.

Did 6 miles on the western part today. I really enjoyed the trails. It was a nice chilly day, high around 25. Wind wasn't blowing too bad so it was OK. Saw a bunch of foxes. I'll have to go back another day and do the eastern half.

Great hike lots of variety.

Just beautiful

The trail is just as described, easy. Although that doesn't take away from the rock formations, the pond and general peace that exists here. (There is some white noise from the traffic upon entry based on where I parked) I've had my dog out here a few times I've not found it busy at all during the week. Clean. Safe.

I wouldn't call this trail anywhere close to hard. It was mostly rolling hills with a few short, steep inclines on the yellow trail. It is rocky so boots are a good idea. As others have noted the blazes are super hard to follow so pay attention and don't be afraid to backtrack to make sure you're on the right path.
