Best beach in Connecticut by far. Peaceful trails and very easy.

The first section of the trail is nice, but further in it is quite poorly marked and maintained. Very muddy and water-logged in some areas to the point where the trail was impassable. Marking get more infrequent as you go deeper in as well.

A lot of steps to go up but worth it for the view

Great hike!

The initial ascent can be challenging but the two outlook vistas are worth it! The trail recorded for this seems off and we had to jump onto the Ross Trail to get back to the Gerard Trail on the way down. Stop to enjoy the waterfall if it has rained recently.

Nicely maintained trail but the never ceasing sounds of traffic ruined the walk for me. The trail is basically a walk through people's backyards. Not my kinda thing.

Multiple views and it was nice to Boulder/climb at Twin Boulders for a bit. They’re located just beyond the 2 viewpoints along the trail. After the initial 1/3 of the circuit the rest is pretty flat and quick to complete.

Very enjoyable hike! Would rate easy to moderate. Impressive property. Reasonably well marked; had to be thoughtful about watching for blazes. AllTrails helped whenever we were uncertain.

Little bit wet after rain the night before. Good views of the sound. Free in the winter.

Just a relaxing stroll.
Great lunch break.

easy going and difficult to get lost

Nothing to add to the reviews, except watch out for Town of Trumbull parking enforcement! Ridiculous.

Wonderful hike alongside the lake until you get to a ridge with a beautiful view the whole way. The castle on top is super cool and has an awesome panoramic view. Probably my favorite half day hike I've done in CT!

Probably my overall favorite running spot maybe because it's so close to my home but also maybe because this whole river valley has so many interesting things to see. The real fun is south of Whitney ave. on the single track trails. There are 4 main trails, red, yellow, white, and blue. All will take you from Indian Ledge park off Whitney ave., south to Park Ln. and Daniels Farm road, approximately a 2.5 mile journey. These are famous mountain bike trails (famous enough to have been listed years ago in mountain biking guide books of the best rides in the north east!) The different trails feel so far apart from each other. They're not. But they seem like they are. In fact the whole place gives this wonderful impression of being much bigger than it is. You feel miles away from civilization even though you are probably no further than a half mile from a highway to the East and a river with a short climb to houses on the West. It's like a whole microcosm of terrain shoved into this one 2.5 mile stretch. There are spots that are charming, almost magical, and the place begs you to come back to do more exploring.

A couple of things to be aware of:
1. If you hear pistol fire, it is from a local police shooting range alongside a section of the red trail. It's not used frequently but when it is . . . you will know. The area is enclosed by fencing and there are small barracks and targets etc. So it's not a concern on the trail.
2. The trails are trafficked by mountain bikers and a significant enough number of hikers of all ages that I have never NOT seen at least one other person on a trip. In fact, I've often seen some of the same people on different occasions. Most of this traffic is on the white trail and blue trails.
3. Many people walk/run their dogs here (including me sometimes) and they are almost always off leash.

Short, easy but a lovely view especially during sunset.

The falls really are beautiful. Went on a early Saturday morning while it was raining and there was only one other family there, which is not the norm but was welcoming. From past reviews this place gets packed to the point where parking is closed, so I highly recommend you go while its raining. I also went on November 3rd so i didnt have to pay the 20 dollar fee (for non residents only and definitely not worth it imo), after Oct 31 there is no fee. Trail can be hard to follow after the falls so have the offline maps downloaded and ready (service is spotty here). Lastly the town of Kent is a nice small hiker town that I highly recommend you visit, tons of small shops with a lot to see and very friendly people.

Easy hike

This is a wonderful spot to get in your long distance run. I’ve been a number of times and I am never disappointed. I have yet to run the entire out and back but have completed about 30 miles of it. It is a packed dirt/gravel trail that slopes very casually making the elevation gain go unnoticed. In the winter I’ve seen folks out there with cross country skies and snow shoes.
This trail is good for everyone and anything.

Happy trails-

Nice Hike especially if you are local to Stamford or Greenwich. Trails are not marked well so make sure your phone is charged as you need to use your GPS to find the way out. Some nice brooks and streams. Beautiful fall foliage.

One of my favorite places for a fun quick easy outdoor walk. Beautiful views and the trails are always clean. Great options to up your hike by taking some other trails off the loop! Never kayaked in it but often see others enjoying the lake itself with fishing and dogs swimming!

Nice walk! If you look close on your walk you find a tiny door along it! At the base of a tree

Very easy and quick trail if you need to get outside. Trails aren't well marked but it's so small you really cant get lost. Very beautiful in the fall!

Many trails. We completed the loop around the lake. It’s beautiful.

This is a fairly easy trail that may be used for walking, running, biking and horseback riding. Depending on the recent weather some areas may be buggy, muddy or icy so be aware.
If geocaching is one of your hobbies the trail is loaded with them, if your not familiar and would like to know more go to geocaching.com.
