I’ve been here dozens of times, I usually trail run from the boat launch until the dam underneath Rt. 89, about 3.5 miles there and back all together. Probably one of my all-time favorite trails, watch out in some areas near the lake as it can be very swampy and there are little trails that are constantly intersecting with the main one, near the dam it can get dangerous, rocky, and steep so proceed with caution. Other than that, this trail is one of my favorites. I’ve been coming here for years and it never gets old!

Nice easy hike with decent views, can be shortened to 0.6 miles.

Me and my 9 year old daughter hiked the blue trail on a Monday morning. We had a great time. Trails are clearly marked. We will definitely return.

big area with tons of trails and other fun things to do.

Very easy and quick hike. Took me 5 minutes from my car to the rock. Great views and easy outing.

I parked on the eastern side off Chaffeeville Rd. There's a short walk to the utility corridor, which turns left onto a steep but relatively short hike. Once you reach the top, there's a trail that crosses. Go left and stay to the left to get to the overlook. Very nice views.

My boys and I did some of the Blue Trail and some of the Mansfield Hollow Dam. Our portion was just under 4 mi. Beautiful hike. But we were pressed for time.
Next time we will do it in the morning. ♡

Secluded on weekdays; good for an easy fall walk

Easy hike for a great view. The loop is nice (yellow trail markers) but for a much longer out and back, the connected Nipmuk trail (blue markers) is also great.

Today I did the section between Southeast School and Lion's Field. my hike was about 3.2 miles, following the blue & yellow trail, then the red & white off the soccer fields, then the Nipmuck back to the blue and yellow. Bug spray would have been smart! Nice easy hike, with some elevation but nothing steep.

Babies first hike at 5 months old. Nice easy trail! Really enjoyed the beautiful sitting area made by a Boy Scout that overlooked a big swamp.

We found the entrance on Crane Hill Road, parking on both sides of the road. Following the marked trail to Wolf rock, easy climb, in less than 15 minutes with a nice valley view to the south and west. Continued down to where the trail forked right toward the main entrance and left that we took that allowed us to loop back to the Wolf rock with easier grade changing path and then returned to the car. We were out for about one hour. I will bring my grandkids up here some time for a nice picnic ..

My grandson and I hiked the Nipmuck (Blue Trail), and the Yellow Trail today that led us around Mansfield Hollow Lake. The Boat launch area off of Basset Bridge Rd is a great place to park to start your hike. Maps of the area are easily found if you Google Mansfield Hollow State Park Trail Map. The trails themselves are well kept and very well marked, including signs with arrows for those easy to miss turns in the trail. It is a relatively easy hike that takes you around the lake through wooded areas. It is a great place to take the family for a picnic and then enjoy the trails and the lake. I enjoy the solitude of the woods. On this hike, we crossed roads, athletic fields, and then more roads. It is a nice hike that is best saved for the summer months or in the fall when the leaves are changing.

Hiked the Nipmuck and yellow trails around the upper and lower sections of lake. Very nice hike. Was a little disappointed that the trails didn't run closer to the water though. Well over a dozen miles of trails here. Great place to waste a day exploring!

Beautiful park with great trails and views of the lake. Red trail starts across the street from the main parking lot, and is a great loop back into the park. You do run into newly installed electrical lines where the trail is cleared in 2 spots. When you come out to the clearing a second time (you'll be facing Bassetts Bridge Rd, the receiving trail market is tough to pick up, but if you go to the right, you'll find it.

Nice little loop. Not too steep, but definitely hilly. There's one spot for an outlook but not great as far as views go. Highly recommend wearing bug spray. I was getting completely swarmed down by the lake area. Otherwise it's a decent day hike.

I took the segment from the boat launch at Mansfield Hollow, out to the overlook. On the way back, I took the Fenton Trail back (blue/white), then the yellow-blazed trail runner trail back to the boat launch. That will give you a loop of about 10 miles if you don't feel like doing an out-and-back. This route has fairly gentle terrain, and a lot of variety. I suppose I am especially partial to this hike because of all the views of Mansfield Hollow, and the amount of time spent on the banks the Fenton River -- water, especially running streams, has always been a particular payoff for me.
