Heavy rains have done a number on the road in, but it’s still doable, and worth it. River ridge trail was really nice. We’ll do this one again.

overgrown bushes on trail, not really passable:(

Nice easy trail! perfect for my dog. Even has a water fountain to fill the water bowl

Flat. Not moderate. Nice if you have kids.

Love this trail. Easy to walk. Has a little of everything. Woods, marsh, rocks, beach, and a bathroom at the end of the trail

Nice and easy. Beautiful views from the bluffs.

Love this trail!

Easy trail along the shoreline. Great for dogs.

Great, relatively short hike. My 8 and 11 year old kids love this trail!

One of my favorite spots in SECT. Nice easy trail, beautiful views from the bluff.

Blue/Yellow trail- Steep climb, worth every second for the view.

Great easy walk for dogs lots of benches for rest

Won’t be back unless the trail is maintained. 10 mins in we turned around because it was completely overgrown.

Great hike. The trail map isn't very helpful, and it's easy to lose the trails in some places. But it's easy to find your place again, too. I recommend on the Watson side taking the Yellow trail to the Blue trail to the Green trail. Not too hard and lots to see.

As a beginner at hiking I found some parts a little challenging then others. The trail was very beautiful with nice view of water. Only thing is I wish it was marked a little more clearly. Will be definitely be going back again. Also not far from black hog brewing co... if your into good craft beer.

Awesome, hidden gem!
Very few people know of this hike, which is what makes it so amazing! No crowds, great scrambles and amazing view from the top, even better than the Chief. People say you get lost very easily, but I think it's really well marked. First half hour you start in the forest, than you go about 20-30 mins on the logging road, and after that you get another hour and a half in the forest going up.
The trail is considered hard due to the fact that at the beginning there are some parts that force you to use arms and legs, but for the rest is very intermediate. Awesome place! The lake isn't anything great, the view of Howe Coast is the highlight!

A nice place for a walk. However there really is no hiking involved. Maximum inclination is 100 feet for this approximately 6 mile walk. I’m really not sure why this is put as a moderate hike on this site. If you are beginner to hiking you can easily do this as only walking involved. I do however find many to not follow the leash rules so keep that in mind as well.

Great clockwise run in the morning of a warm Saturday. A little buggy valley along river was nice and cool. Nice view from the top. Follow the yellow markers. Very well marked. First two miles are on an u traveled dirt road along the river.

From the entrance the initial half mile is neatly paved, it gets very messy when it rains.
Its not a good idea to bring kids or pets to this place.
The trails are not marked properly and it gets confusing at times.
There are small thorny bushes in the trail which gets very annoying.
Mosquitoes all around which is really bad. :(
Its green but just not worth a hike.

Loved this trail. Very well maintained. Used a stroller for the whole loop with only a little difficulty at times but nothing impassible. A lot of points to step off and see a lot of neat areas. Great for kids as well

Quick sunrise hike while at Foxwoods business conference. less than 20 minutes to the top if hike loop clockwise.

Bluff Point is a wonderful trail that leads you out to views of Fishers Island and Long Island Sound. The beach makes for an adequate swim day, and the second half of the loop is steep enough to burn off lunch.

Beautiful, but certain parts of the trail aren’t very well marked. Be prepared to stare at your phone/map and compass with some regularity.

Really enjoyed this hike. Challenging but some cool views with some wildlife. Be careful because trail is tricky to follow with the storm damage

I enjoyed this hike a lot. It is definitely challenging at times and towards the end it was hard to navigate back. We ended up in someone’s back yard and having to walk the entire road back to the parking lot. A few others on the trail also went off the trail multiple times so it is important you pay close attention. Originally thought it would be 6.1 Miles but because of back tracking and getting lost we ended up doing 7.5 mi. Could have been because marked trees may have fallen since the storm. I still recommend it but be prepared for some steep spots. Also keep a look out for black racers near the water. We ran into two by the waterfall so watch your step!!

I enjoyed the hike and got to train more with my backpacking gear
