Trails easily marked. Just enough incline to get the heart rate up. Did have to refer to the map on my phone a few times. Didn’t realize trail was also on a road (not a busy road). Pretty views, worth the hike- will visit again.
Conditions: a little muddy, some overcast, not very buggy (10/1/18)
Time: with a dog and 1 wrong turn/back track took us 2 hours. Could easily be done in 1-1.5 without a dog and with trail familiarity.

Love it. The Tower is the best part.

This is a great place for a small east hike. There is a trail that loops around the lake. You can go kayaking, fishing mountain biking and picnics there. There are also back trails for hiking. One will bring you to the top of West Rock, where you can see over New Haven. Another trail will bring you to baldwi drive which is a paved road that was closed years ago but it's still a hiking trail. Another trail will bring you to Paradise Preserve aka "The field of Dreams". please not the state cut down that big tree at the field of dreams two years ago. I hike Lake Wintergreen daily,so i know it by heart.

Easy hike but watch for copper heads in the summer. Also good for running if you want a challenge

Amazing views. Semi challenging and perfect trail

My son helped in the Eagle Scout project created this trail, from BSA Troop 610 Hamden. It's a great trail and a great opportunity to hike previously unmarked trails.

Enjoyed this hike through woodlands. Markers were clear but not identified by which loop of the west rock (couldn’t identify 4 mile north loop from 10 mile full loop) . Beautiful wildflowers and lots of bees and dragonflies!

Great place to hike. Been a few years ago. I wanted to go back this summer but unfortunately it’s closed due to storm damage

Great hike! I took my kids (ages 11 & 9) up to the head in the fall. They were a little nervous in some spots, but it was worth the view from the top.

Great hike. Has a couple of challenging-ish parts. There are some beautiful views. It’s a nice relaxing hike that took about 3.5-4 hours. If in the area, I’d do it again.

This park has stunningly beautiful vistas and trails. It is not for the weak of heart if do the Blue Trail - it is crazy steep but you feel like you've accomplished something when you get to the top. If you stay on the outer edges for the whole park you will find pretty and quiet paths. towards the center of the park it's very well-traveled.

Great place for hiking

this is a sick hike, loved it. the tower was a bit disappointing, imo.

Great beautiful hike with the pup & friends :) happy to see it being kept clean!

Great hike

Unbelievable. Not for the faint of heart when it comes to heights. Petrified of heights but was able to conquer this track. Beautiful views, wildlife and all nature has to offer. Great way to spend Earth Day 2018.

It’s a nice hike on a gravel trail for the family but it was wall to wall people up and down making it less enjoyable. Perhaps try it on a cold and cloudy day.

There's a super difficult scramble in the very beginning, but then it levels out and is not that hard, just a bunch of ups and downs. We had planned to take the blue trail there and then the violet trail back, but the violet trail turned out to be just a simple walk, so we quickly switched back to the blue. Very fun overall, and a nice challenge! It took us 3.5 hours round-trip, with about 30 min of lunch.

Great quiet trails!

Pleasantly challenging — scrambles could be tough if you’re afraid of heights/don’t have much confidence in yourself...definitely worth a try for anyone feeling adventurous! Just be mindful of loose/slippery rocks, as an avid hiker I almost took a tumble a few times!

Beautiful hike! Spring peepers and wood frogs are out in the vernal pools!

A pretty awesome trail that my family and I have hiked many times throughout the years.

Fairly gradual hike up an wide, dirt road. We went on one of the first warm days of Spring, and the crowds were unbelievable. The tower at the top felt like a party, with probably 50 people crammed onto the top level. This would make a decent hike on a day with less people, but it wouldn’t be phenomenal.

Enjoyable, I'll try it again in the summer for hopefully better scenery.

One of my favorite trails . I once did it in flip flops ! (Big mistake) does have challenging points but the view is worth it ! Not for everyone and make sure to bring water and proper footwear!

Hiked the tower trail on Sunday- it was VERY icy, but that made it more challenging and fun.

Great hikes for kids. Lake, lean tos, streams, a damn, and small rock formations to keep them busy. We hiked white to red-white around the lake.
