Nice hike. No summit but very scenic and lots of eco changes...

The falls are very nice! Very short hike to see a great pay off.

Great hike! Took my 3yr and wore my 1yr old accompanied by another family with the same aged kids. All of them loved the waterfall, little bridges, and different streams, rocks and ups and downs. Will be revisiting this place again.

Varying terrain kept our interest. We'll definitely do this one again.

Loved the waterfalls! Wear bug spray next time. Easy

Trail was not marked at all so very easy to get lost. Still an enjoyable walk with some great views of the reservoir.

Moderate very rocky nice clear walking area though, however missed the turn down to res but kept walking down coop. It’s good if you can find the right path and there is. I wash always.

A good place with kids. A few downed trees to climb over. Otherwise fairly easy. There’s a nice clearing for a picnic.

The hike to the reservoir itself is a straight shot of

Very pleasant and moderate. Markers along the way would help with navigation. The APP's GPS was very useful.

It was well marked until you near the river. Then just bushwhack to it. There is a horse ring that seems out of place but it’s a nice way to spend an hour.

I️ loved it and so did my pup. Lots of trails

The first part entering off of Birch Mtn Rd in Glastonbury was very clear, very well marked (it’s the Shenipsit Tr). Ended up on Case Mtn in Manchester. The returning part of the loop was awful. Got lost multiple times (no marked trails), had to use my phone for the majority of the return trip to ensure I was staying on the “path”. Good thing for a fully charged phone battery. If I do it again, I’ll just stick to the Shenipsit.

This was a nice hike/walk however the trails are very poorly marked making it very confusing to navigate.

it was a nice hike around ,some of the paths are not clearly marked ,but easy enough to find..i recommend the route, just towards the end follow the path to the road. didn't see any waterfalls except at the beginning not really visible. mainly woods and some streams

Couldn't hike the trail- completely overgrown and unmarked.

Boring trail.

There's no doubt about it; this place is beautiful. However, I did get lost on the south side of the reservoir because the trails are not marked.

Quiet leisurely stroll around the reservoir enjoying the white pine needle softness underfoot and the fern garden.

This is a relatively easy trail minus a few muddy spots from recent rain to look out for. Just walk around. Beautiful views along the way!

The mosquitoes were ridiculous. My husband and I wanted to take our 15 month old out to let her get some practice walking. We had to run off the trail and into the adjacent cemetery to try and escape the swarm.

We hope to return again.

What a beautiful day we had for our first hike to the reservoir! The dogs loved the run and going for a swim. We saw ducks enjoying their life on the water. Very peaceful setting. Also met some nice people and their very well behaved dogs on the trail.

OK; very peaceful. No trail markers to speak of. Will do the opposite side of the reservoir next time.

I love this trail! ❤

Not much to it. Downloaded the map.
Started on the blue trailed crossed over to the red "Garnet" trail , which went nowhere. Crossed back to the blue/white trail and again just went nowhere. Went about 4 miles with no views, sites, direction. Should of just went out to the woods behind my house.
At least the day was nice.

Leading up to and through the walk around most of the north side of the reservoir, we had no problems and the atmosphere was great! However, the trail is never marked, and it became a problem along the south side. Trying to find/follow trails was so frustrating, we weren't able to appreciate the walk back. Still worth it, just try to follow the reservoir whenever the trail fails you. Also, the app's GPS was a huge help, it's worth bringing along!

Beautiful trail

Monday, October 03, 2016

Hiked this trail with the hubby, our two girls (2 yrs and 9 mo) on our backs and our dog. Had a great hike in to the reservoir where we enjoyed a picnic lunch. What a great place so close to home!

Beautiful, peaceful, pristinely maintained and well-marked trail. At many points, all I could hear was nature sounds, which is all too rare on CT trails. I turned around at the 3-mile mark and walked back through a steady rain. A lovely retreat into nature.
