Nice hike with a few lively views

sign at beginning that says this trail section is closed

Trail seems to be closed for the time being. Multiple signs at the beginning with down trees across the trail. It sounds like a great hike- just not do-able at this time

awesome, loved both views, definitely worth it

This trail is practically in my backyard, and I’m so glad I rediscovered it!! It’s a really nice out and back.... gorgeous glacial rocks!

You can continue further to pinnacle rock if you have more time. This took me about an hour

Fun trail, one of the roads less traveled. From Pinnacle rock you can see out over Hartford, Lake Compounds, Bristol, and other nearby towns. Great views!

Awesome hike that leads to an awesome view.

Fun trail with varying terrian and inclines / declines. Offers a spectacular view.

poorly maintained! poorly marked! broken glass beer cans. don't waste your time!

Nice trail with the exception of broken glass particularly at the top. Not sure why kids can't take beer cans rather than bottles. Enjoyable and an easy hike even for a 14 yr old dog.

A lot of ups and downs. Definitely some parts that require a little scrambling or butt-sliding if you don't feel confident walking down rocky slopes. Not too busy either; small parking lot on the north side with a handful of cars. Unfortunately, lots of broken glass and litter (including fire works, plastic bottles) and graffiti at the top with some questionable wording... also the railing at the peak needs some work, but not a big deal. Great view at the top and got some good exercise. Not a bad time at all.

Not too challenging of a hike, but enough to get your heart pumping. great view at the top.

Just watch out for black snakes, ended up practically on top of one sunning itself on the trail and he was NOT happy.

Would definitely hike again.

Easy, quick up and down, trails were clean and clearly marked. This trail is great for families with a lot of nice big rocks to stop and rest at. Or great for a quick trail run. I would say it is on the easy side of moderate.

Great view cool caves

Quick trip up to the top, well marked nicely maintained, beautiful woods

Great view, great zen

Great trail with amazing views from Rattlesnake Cliff! Highly recommend this trail.

Took the dog up. Some tricky spots but overall a nice up hill hike in. Slippery hike out but the view is worth it. Always fun to continue on to Pinnacle Mt via the Metacomet.

First time here - we (my puppy and I) loved it!

Beautiful scenery. Trail poorly maintained

a hidden gem! pretty steep parts, lots of rocks. it was challenging for a beginner like myself but doable. The view at the end was totally worth the hike up. beautiful. also the entrance is a little hidden, basically on the side of the main road.

Good hike. Tricky in certain parts due to rocky terrain you have to climb over and around. And because of the rocky terrain, it can be easy to lose the trail since it's not always a clear path through the woods. All in all, though, I'd do it again.

Beautiful grassy trails on the grounds of the Hillstead Museum, also a must see. Grounds are open to the public year round. Park at the museum. Lots of birds and wildflowers.
