it's a great, flat run. will do it again. scenic.

Beautiful day 9/1. Only 2 cars when I arrived at 9:30 am. Big hike for me, had a blast. There are a couple downed trees, but you climb or walk around. I would go back again. When I left at 12 there were more than 15 cars parked.

Great place of adventure. Lot of up n down parts to make the hike a solid workout as well

and I forgot to add that I saw a porcupine

i did the whole loop, I went left at Fork first half of Luke easy to moderate then after the neighborhood you take a right back on the trail and then that's where the ledges came in and it was moderate to difficult and I really enjoyed that, the only thing not so good was the bugs mosquitoes and gnats good thing I have my cutter with me if not then it would have been a total disaster so I definitely recommend his tail but bring your cutter

Decided to check out Weir Farm National Historic Site yesterday and by chance it was art in the park which meant every building was open to tour and it was also the National Park Service's 102 Birthday!! Stroll through the nature trails was peaceful..many different trails to explore..not difficult at all.

This was a truly beautiful hike. I started at the Mashamoquet Meadow Trail and first made my way to the Ledge Trail, then went all the way up to the Grassland Bird Conservation area. It was beautiful rolling hills of meadows and fields, with some wetlands and wooded trails mixed in. Outstanding views. Haven't seen anywhere else in CT like it.

Very nice hike, easy was definitely the right rating.. Be careful on rainy days as the boardwalk can be slippery.

What a great trail!!!! Absolutely beautiful! The trail is well marked with beautiful scenery. It’s a very easy hike but very rewarding at the same time. Highly recommend

A nice walk. Nothing special though. Probably an ideal spot to sit on one of the millions of benches to read a book.

it's great for starting out and it doesn't take long

Good if you live in Fairfield County and don’t feel like driving too far to get into the woods for exercise...some broken glass at the only lookout spot, though.

This was a nice walk along the water, many information plaques along the way to explain the area. I would not consider this a hike. It was an enjoyable walk.

It is a nice preserve however trails can be crowded with lots of groups and mosquitos were crazy bad. However, there is a bathroom in the gift shop and everyone is really nice!

Not great and you can hear the highway the whole time.

Great easy trail loop...wouldn't classify this as "moderate". You can tell that some spots don't get as much foot traffic, but the trails are easy to follow. There are reforestation efforts going on so there are a lot of trees down across the path (but easy to get around or climb over). You do need access to get past the gate for parking, but that's easy to get from the town. Loads of mushrooms, pine trees, ferns, and toads along the way!

Make sure you have a regional water authority pass and you’ll have the gate codes to get in. Beautiful trails- obviously not well traveled as parts are overgrown and lots of trees down on the trail

I just went on this trail for the first time with my 14y/o son and it was really fun. There are several beautiful views once you reach the western ledge of Mt. Higby. There are some steep areas to navigate and other trails that u can use on the way back to get a different view. I highly recommend this hiking trail!

Arrived here at 715am ( well after the sun came up) and gates were closed so I couldn't get in. The sign on the gate said "trails are open every day" "Gate opens at sun up and closes at sundown" so I'm left disappointed and confused.

Great walk! Actually got 4 miles in by looping around the lake.

Great and local. As another commenter said, lots of bugs in Spring/early Summer. Almost none in fall.

Nice lake. Some rocks for kids to scramble up. Great vibe as other hikers share the road, parking lot, and trails.

Great trails although some are currently closed due to tornado damage. This is Audubon property and dogs are not allowed even on a leash.

Very pretty, but make *sure* you bring your bug spray!

Nice easy walk along the water. Good if you want to get outside and have a view but not be challenged. The board walk portion is clean and well built. Nice little park area at the end with beautiful ocean views. No shortage of places to sit along the way as its lined with an obscene amount of benches.
