Short hike. The regicide trail is pretty rocky but had some nice views. Fairly close to the edge at some points. Fair amount of people out on the trail today

I really liked this trail. Lots of good ups and downs. Came in at a bit over 8 miles for me, but I also had a hard time picking up the trail. Started, no clear direction of which of the many little paths was the blue blaze at first. Ended up on a bike trail, then onto Broady Road, which took me almost back to the start, and finally found the blue blaze. Did the full loop from there. Very beautiful trail. Some rocky parts. Quite a few very steep parts. Would recommend to anyone seeking a bit of a challenge, and I’d say go counter clockwise so you have the pay off of walking by the lake on the way back.

I wouldn’t really consider this hiking but it’s a nice walk through the woods. Scenery is ok. It’s a nice walk with young kids as there are no large rocks and very wide and straight trails.

Pretty views but dogs aren’t allowed on the sandy parts of the beach and half of the trail is closed off to the public.

Red trail was fairly easy but there were 4-5 very muddy spots. Like REALLY muddy. Orange trail was more hilly and rocky. Much more physically demanding at points but better views. Saw 4 snakes while on both trails.

Nice 1.4 mile walk on a sunny afternoon. Social distancing was a little tricky on the bridges.

Started on the blue and orange trail but it was getting late so we switched to the red - alongside the lake. Nice walk , good workout on the outer trails of the lake beginner to moderate !

Plenty of shade but lots of mud and overgrown vegetation. Found bones close to trail, not sure if from an animal eating dinner or hunters. Also steep trek down to the waterfall. Trails didn’t match map, lots of detours and very confusing for first time users. Met others on the trail that were looking for help finding their way too. Goes through power lines. Not a bad trail, just not one of my favorites.

Nice trail. Well marked. Only a few people. Does anyone know the story behind Mike’s bench?

Very disappointed with the hike. As an avid ,nature loving, hiking personnel such as myself, I was upset to see broken glass all over the trail. Multiple canines were also partaking in this adventure so I couldn’t help but worry their paws would be severely injured- this took away from the relaxation I strive for during a hike. The trail was NOT marked well enough for my standards. As a matter of fact a trail I was following completely vanished and was worried about the possibility of requesting evac. So, I had to follow a different colored trail to get to the top. Furthermore, this is not a “moderate” trail. I was mountain climbing for a portion of it. I was not expecting to channel my inner spider monkey for this trip. Multiple breaks were needed and unfortunately, some tears were shed. However, the community of hikers on this day encouraged me to keep going and I found comfort and inspiration in that. An older woman passing me did tell me she was 82 years of age. Do with this information what you must. I did finally get to the castle and the view was satisfying. Hence why there are two stars. God speed.

Nice, easy trail.

Really nice hike! Definitely more moderate than hard. There were a decent amount of people at the end going to Castle Craig, but the rest of the trail was pretty quiet. Followed the blue markers the whole way

Awesome hike! I followed the blue trail then the white trail all the way back to the parking lot. I printed out the map and it was breeze to follow as long as you are familiar with directions "N,S,E,W". Using the app was confusing.

This trail was very busy

Great hike. Definitely go counter-clockwise following the yellow-blue trailer marker out and then blue on the way back. If you do that the hardest technical part will be first and then the second half of the hike will be much easier. The first part has lots of climbing and reminds me of Lemon Squeeze at Mohonk in NY. At the end of the Yellow blue portion of the trail you come out to a road. Walk left until it dead ends and then you can pick up the trail again. Probably a good 10 minute walk on the road.

I live pretty close so this place is great for an outdoor workout. I tend to do the blue trail backwards. The entire loop takes me about an hour and a half and according to my phone its 4.5 miles and about 60 flights of stairs. I say backwards because a lot of people walk down the major hills I tend to prefer to go up them as you get a better workout that way. Otherwise great trail you don't encounter many people in the middle of the loop and the changing terrain makes it more fun.
