Was less populated so I would suggest taking someone with you! Great trail, would hike again.

This was a cute, easy trail for the most part and had two stunning outlooks! would love to do it again in the fall.

I agree with previous comments, not difficult at all. Summit view was beautiful.

Beautiful views, and great hike..

Great spot for a hike, rock climb, and amazing view. View from the top is breathtaking. There’s an easy and moderate trail to get to the top. Would recommend this hike to friends, families with children, or couples. (Personal note: Came here with Kev 6/25/18.)

Unreal sunset spot

Hiked this counter clockwise.About 3/4 quarters of the hike is logging road but decent views to the East when you reach the peak of Pine Mountain .Solid rock ground at the top

I hiked this one a couple weeks ago. I would rate its difficulty as moderate.Nice forest setting but no peaks or outcrops to view the landscape. The caves were pretty cool but a little treacherous to climb down to. I was disappointed not to see the Indians in the cave.We must of arrived while they were out hunting game

Great hiking here! Gives you a great work out and our dog loves it too!

Great views, great family hike, we had kids ages 6-12. Trails easy to follow.

Really nice trail, bit of elevation gain/loss but not too bad. Lots of geocaches along the way. Not a ton of views.

I loved this trail. I took the left fork, Fall Cutoff trail on the way up. It was rocky and somewhat steep, but I enjoyed the workout. Views at the top are well worth it. I took the Jesse Girard/Lighthouse trail down, which was easier in terms of a more gradual descent. I hike every weekend, and this might be my favorite in CT so far.

Great hike! Tried a shorter trail today got turned around

Well marked trail and easy to follow. Fun is in the hike rather the caves. Had a good time.

Sweet, steep, great views but not very long!!

First 800 feet is all vertical over natural and man-made Stone steps. The rest of the way along the trail is easy with multiple viewpoints including a chance to sign in the logbook. Took the Quarry Road to lighthouse trail. Halfway down the Quarry Road I startled a beer which was 50 feet to the right of me. Connected to the lighthouse trail back to the starting point.

Definitely want to hike this in its entirety. Picked this trail because we only had enough time for a 5 mile hike. Thought it was going to be 4.9 in and out, but that's only 1 way. It was a good hike.

Beautiful hike, very well marked once you are on the trail. Follow everyone's instructions here to cross the street and look for a foot bridge to get to the trail head. The street you will be crossing is kind of busy. Terrain changes so often, breath taking views. Certain part of the hike reminded us of Sequoia national park. Lot of bugs specially if it has rained recently. Also everyone in our group had ticks when we got back so make sure to check for those. I would rate this hike easy-moderate. Not difficult at all.

A good bit of time is spent on a paved road, but it's otherwise a very nice trail with some open views. We saw two bear cubs from a safe distance!

Great little trail that can be completed in a couple of hours on a nice day. The initial part from the River Road trailhead is great to get the heart pumping. Takes about 30 mins to get to the 1st overlook and then it's an easy walk the rest of the way. Start from the other end if you want a gentler hike.

Very nice hike, with some decent ups and downs. Uneven terrain not ideal for trail run. Massive rocks and old stone foundations. 5+ mile round trip.

Went on this hike looking for something difficult. The trail is not hard at all. There were some wet areas to cross but overall the trail was very easy. Once you reach the "caves" it was a little treacherous climbing down due to the wet rocks. Fun trail as a warm up, but next time I will try the full 9 miles.

Incredibly well marked, and easy to follow. There were a couple steep parts, but the views from both outlooks were 100% worth it.
