Lots of bike traffic, but plenty of room to pull off to pass!

A bit too much bike traffic to feel comfortable, especially with a 2 and 4 year old hiking. But otherwise it was lovely.

Great family friendly trail. On a Saturday afternoon there were quite a few mountain bikers, but otherwise a beautiful hike!

Great hike, well marked, not amazing views but you get to see winter park from Yankee Doodle trail.

Great trail, would recommend! Pleasant moderate incline with great views the whole way. Not a lot of shade on the trail and the sun was hot. Bring your water, sunscreen and a snack! There were only a few mountain bikers out but not very busy otherwise.

Absolutely beautiful hike!! The pictures posted here don't do it justice. The trail was a little muddy in spots but no snow.

Easy trail-muddy. We did the blue loop. You can make it more difficult if you choose the black trail.

Hiked this yesterday. Lots of people in the parking lot but didn’t see many once on the trail! Nice hike, gradual uphill for the first half but not technical...wide trail. The top part and second half had a decent amount of snow piles left from the winter which made it a little harder but nothing crazy. Did the hike in my climbing approach shoes and was OK. Decent shade. No crazy view at the top but still a lovely hike.

Still a lot of snow. Would wait several weeks unless you want to posthole through. Still completed though and enjoyed. Lots of areas for hiking though just snow at top. (Sorry forgot to record whole way, so ignore that part)

Snow in places, but mostly packed down. We were able to do the loop in running shoes.

My family and I went in July and had a great time on this trail. There are parts that are very steep. Also, bring lots of sunscreen! I forgot mine and being so close to the sun got second degree burns. Other than that I highly recommend this trail!

Turned back about half a mile before the end because I got tired of pulling my legs out of snow drifts. Gorgeous!

Only did the taller peak. Trail was a bit boring and we only got good views when we continued on after AllTrails says the trail ends but it actually keeps going. We picked this trail since we knew it’d be packed down by the snowmobiles. Were grateful for the packed down snow as we’re still acclimating to the altitude. And boy did the altitude get us, glad we didn’t have the extra weight of snowshoes or spikes. I’d recommend doing a trail that starts at a higher altitude to get the best bang for your buck.

Great for snowshoeing! I worried it would be too close to town, but in most parts of the trail you do feel more secluded and in the woods. There are a few spots where you can hear traffic or see homes, but to be expected with a trailhead so close to town. We enjoyed the fresh powder and it wasn't busy AT ALL, on a Saturday afternoon! What a nice surprise. Cheers!

It was a brutal uphill climb, but beautiful views. We went in early January, and we saw a moose about 50ft away. We backed up and found an alternate path to the parking lot. Driving home, we saw her male companion. We are so glad we left - they were huge! I uploaded his picture; I didn't stick around to get hers.

Good trail. We did it in the snow. It was a quick out and back! The view isn’t amazing, but it’s worth it if you just want a short, easy, trail.

Nice hike- moderate is a good description. Lots of animal tracks- saw a big bull moose not far from the turnaround point of the trail. He was about 200 yards to side of trail and was not shy. So cool!

October trip Summer crowd is gone and winter isn't here yet Our first day in town and we wanted a mid-level trail. We found the Yankee-Doodle trail to be enough of a challenge for both teen and parent We were able to get a nice hike in, while not needing more than hiking boots, water, and a camera.

did on sunday 10/6. not many folks on the trail. did ute trail which is 2.2 miles each direction. steep around 1600 feet of elevation each way. goes through several forested areas. really nice hike with a lovely view at the top
