We parked at the Big Dominguez campground, and hiked the 15 miles down to Bridgeport over 3 days. We had our kids, ages 8 and 12 with us. It's a really easy hike, impossible to get lost. The only trick is finding water up toward the top - the creek is in a deep canyon. We ended up scrambling down the cliffs to fill our water. The kids loved playing in the water toward the bottom, though. Definitely a family friendly hike.

Good if you want space. Mostly ugly desert, wind, and heat. Much better river views elsewhere.

We were just driving through the area to check out the campground. We ended up walking this trail for about 2 miles. It is gorgeous, full of red sand and trees. Very easy first 2 miles. I will definitely be back to play in the waterfalls!

Easy walk. Read about the first superintendent that climbed Independence Rock every 4th of July to plant an American Flag at the top. Heard voices and looked over to the rock and saw two climbers a short distance from the top

I'd say a good portion is walking down the side of the cliff, and back up. nice trail, usually not many people probably for that reason.

Super easy hike! With an amazing view at the end. Well throughout the entire hike.

Had a great time exploring this trail for the weekend! We hiked in from the bottom to the top and back and camped at a couple different spots in between. Trail ranges from loose gravel, to hard packed dirt, to sand so be ready for anything and watch your step! The middle sections are harder to follow but lots of cairns to guide you! I almost took a couple tumbles on the loose gravel but other than that all was well! Great way to spend earth day!!

Great trail to walk with the dogs

Yes! Yes! Yes! Love Utah, but also love this place! Huge and beautiful canyons. It’s surprising to find landscapes such as this in CO. Such an amazing hike. Beautiful canyon that echos the sounds of time. It can seem crowded, but hike past the newspaper rock and you won’t see many people. When you get to the main rock art look right to see some petroglyphs that are not vandalized. There harder to find but more beautiful because inconsiderate vandals can’t get there. The canyon is more spectacular then the rock art. It’s huge and inspirational. There is no doubt why folks chose to etch their spirits into the rock. Great place, and great energy. Definitely do this hike. You’ll be happy
You did ;).

Very easy, simple trail. Straightforward.

I take my dogs here all the time, it's relatively not busy most of the time and most people have their dogs off leash. my husky loves to run free. don't go after a snow or rain though, it's gets super muddy. sometimes it's also very windy.

I hiked this trail today and it was wonderful as promised however I would not recommend it for horses. I typically ride mules but this trail is too narrow and rough even for mules.

Only struggle is the heat midday, but that's what the waterfalls are for! You can hike down to the second waterfall, too. Make sure and try it.

Hiked out to the first petroglyphs. Which was about 3.5mi. it's a super easy hike, trail is obvious, not much elevation gain. Good views of the river, and canyon. Overall fun, enjoyable hike.

We hiked in the 100F weather but swam in 2 waterfall and its totally worth it! The main waterfall is a bit difficult to find but you'll see a rock that's cut in half and then start hiking to the left towards the black canyons

Saw lots of hawks, ravens, and prairie dogs. Not many views, big trucks from mining site could be heard the entire time.

Close to my house, not many people and the dogs love it!!

Waterfall was flowing with the recent rain. You have to jump the creek and down climb a cliff to get a clear view.

We stopped by this park on our way to Arches NP. We were blown away by how pretty and secluded it was. Visitors must read up about John Otto while there- an amazing conservationist whom spent his life fighting for the preservation of this amazing landscape. Otto's trail is an easy hike to an incredible overlook of several formations. Must-visit park.

It was a beautiful hike! Didn't find the waterfall. If your looking for it you need to go the Delta way not through Gateway!! My dogs loved it!
