For 08/25. The Jeep trail saves a lot of time, a little narrow, so only wide enough for one vehicle( tight for a large pickup). Several nice camp grounds before 3 miles in. The trail is washed out across the creek about half a mile from the trail head, but you can pick up the trail straight across the creek. Easy trail to the East Peak cut off to the left then progressively steeper ascent. Wish there were more switch backs. At the tree line, a lot of scree with mainly an unmarked trail until the shear ridge to the top which took about 2 hours to transverse. Start early. We had to turn around at about 13:30 with only 400 ft to go because of thunder and lightening.
