Beautiful views.

Beautiful waterfall but this should be rated as hard.
Extremely steep and dangerous.
Half the hike is walking through a neighborhood.

tons of bugs, 2 miles straight up, waterfall really low. i hike every weekend and found this on the difficult side, not enjoyable

Beautiful trail with beautiful views. Made it 2.5 miles with three kids in tow (ages 9,9,11) and they loved it. We stopped at the creek and rested/played in the water. Aspen pine area took my breath away.

Great hike through the valley for all ages. Worth the work for the view. You can climb down to get in the river at the top. Before the falls stopping area there is a spot to climb down to the front of the waterfall for awesome pics.

Previous reviews almost convinced me not to go on this trail. Rest assured, there is no rock climbing in the traditional sense but there is a lot of rock stepping. This trail is easily done without trekking poles though you should use them if you have them. This is a great hike for a workout with a decent reward at the end. Be prepared! It is uphill the whole way! Take deliberate steps and use the rocks for traction and you’ll rock this hike!

I would’ve said four star but husband and son said two. I would definitely say it’s more difficult than a moderate due to the ropes and the difficulty getting back down. The waterfall is beautiful. It’s a great hike if you know what you’re getting into, but as others have said, definitely not for small kids, even those under 13, IMHO.

Beautiful views. For me this was most steep of all trails I have done so far. I am not a pro. Doing this certainly felt rewarding. Several shady and scenic resting places. Adventurous! We all thoroughly enjoyed this trail.

Get ready for your heart rate to spike! The hike really begins at the 5 acre parcel, in the middle of an affluent neighborhood. It's hidden so be on the lookout. Would not recommend kids or animals due to elevation climb with ropes. Yes, ropes. Last leg of hike requires rope assistance. It's very very steep. Get ready for dust and dirt.

Fantastic trail, amazing views throughout and the waterfall at the top was the perfect spot to hang out before heading back down. Probably a little too tough for the younger kids.

This trail was challenging but very beautiful. The first part of the hike (1 mile or so) is tough but gives you an idea of what to expect for the remainder of the hike. Lots of creeks and streams to see as well as some little waterfalls. Did not see excessive wildlife but there were plenty of flowers budding and blooming. I'd say the wildflowers will be in full force in about a week or so. Great varying terrain to keep you entertained as you tackle the inclines. Nicely set up with flat parts to make the altitude change manageable. Very worth the climb; about 7 hours round trip. Hiked 7/10/2018

We did it as a part of the Booth Lake trail. It is a steep short climb, pretty but not especially exciting. The falls at the end were not exciting either (they probably look much better with more water, now it may be too dry).

First thing I want to say is that is not an "easy" trail. I think people are lured into thinking this is going to be an easy walk or ride, and it's simply not. We are experienced hikers and took trekking poles for balance etc. We are really happy we did. There are some fairly technical areas that require good balance. That being said, this is a beautiful hike. You will weave through forest, wildflowers, Aspen groves and at about 3.75 miles in, you'll reach the lake which is honestly beautiful. While coming out, we encountered a couple of fairly novice mountain bikers who were young, but daunted by the rocky and steep outcroppings. They were walking their bikes due to the technical aspects. We saw another rider who was obviously very seasoned, flying down the hill...so it's fun for everyone, but if you are new to hiking or biking, be warned, this is not an easy trail.

My favorite hike in the area for the past 3 years, I've always hiked it twice once in spring and once in fall. It always amazes no matter how many times you hike it.

Long and easy hike. Have few pretty openings but the lake is the best of it. So quiet and peaceful. Just makes you realise how awesome the nature is. I would advice to take bugs spray with you. Mosquitoes were crazy back there.

HARD

Loved this beautiful hike until about 2.3 miles - the trail disappears and to get to where it continues, the hard uphill, it seems like you have bushwhack. I don’t like bushwhacking, it destroys the environment and really there should be a clear path. I tried going right but the path totally disappeared. Am not comfortable heading into unchartered territory without a map - AllTrails wouldn’t let me record my hike, then it stopped working all together when the trail disappeared, even though I had downloaded it.

Loved it! Very steep needed to hold onto the ropes provided. SO BEAUTIFUL!!! A lot of fun but best for athletic older kids and adults. Could be quite dangerous in spots for younger kids. The path is very thin and not super well marked in a few spots. Definitely a hidden gem!!!!

Great views !!!

Beautiful Hike! Great views of the mountain, flowers and a beautiful wild flower field towards the top., it reminded my daughter of the alps. The water feels amazing in the creek at the top and very refreshing. Lots of climbing and Challenging steps but very doable, just take your time don’t rush. Very scenic and green in July. Oh and please please remember to take garbage and dog poop bags out on your way down. Please don’t litter, it’s such an amazing place.

Fantastic hike. Stunning views, forest, wildflowers, creek and waterfalls. I would highly recommend hitting the trial by 9:00am as we did. Not too crowded but on the way down we passed many more hikers. It was getting super hot on the way down as well. Lots of dogs, many off leash. Sit awhile at the water falls, it is absolutely amazing. You can explore past the falls a bit which we did. You can also climb down and cross the river. A large portion of the trail is very steep and rocky. We had our hiking poles for the downhill descent and many people commented that they wished they had brought poles. If you have bad knees or hips, take your poles. A fellow All Trails user commented that the trail is difficult, not moderate. The steep rocky sections are challenging, more so coming down. I cannot wait to go back, great hike.

Did 3.1 miles up and then turned back - hot day. Beautiful trail- best part was seeing a gorgeous big brown bear towards the top across Deluge creek on the far side of the valley

We hiked to the falls and back. It was just the right level for our two older kids who enjoyed the waterfalls and scenery almost as much as we did!

The falls at the end of Trail is so worth it. I will however rate it hard not moderate... steep rocky climbing the last one third of the trail. It’s a beautiful trail, very scenic and I also like the flowerer field.
When you reach the end, take another step and go down to reach out all the way to the fall. Sit in the rock and touch the pure cold water, enjoy the amazing fall... it’s just very inspiring.

Beautiful hike! The hike is very long, but not too strenuous. 3/4 of the hike is flat and only moderately steep at times. It also follows a beautiful stream! The last 1/4 is strenuous but the lake is worth it!

At the lake we hung out with some goats! They are docile and will run away if you go near them

We hiked Deluge a few days earlier and found Deluge to be more difficult (even though it is shorter)

Definitely hard with young kids. Fun climb with the ropes. Several loose big rock sent rolling down the climbing area which was dangerous. When to the top of the falls. Not your typical moderate hike. Also rope got move to a more difficult path. Harder going down.

Great trail because of the wonderful waterfall reward at the end! Don’t be one of those people that looks at the waterfall and turns back around. You have to go explore. See how high you can get on the waterfall. Even bring an extra pair of socks and towel to wade a little. Get the full experience! The hike back down takes about half the time or less since it’s all downhill. Bring lots of water and some snacks with you, especially if you’re beginners like we are. The fine loose dirt makes the path a little slippery at times, so shoes with good grips are recommended. There’s not a ton of parking right at the trail head, but there’s more by the school building. Great, fun, challenging, but doable hike! Once you get to the top, you forget about how hard it was to get up there because of how cool the waterfall was!

Great hike! The beginning is very steep, so be prepared for a strenuous incline for 2 miles. You’re in the woods for majority of the hike and will come to a meadow before the lake. The last mile in the meadow is a steep climb to the lake, but 100% worth it.
