I did this mountain biking. I had never been mountain biking before so this trail was very challenging and overwhelming. This was just because I was inexperienced. I was exhausted at the end but mostly because I was working hard and was also scared. Saw some experienced bikers pass us having a blast through the trail. Had some great views of the mountains.

We don’t know as went with our dog, since it says dog friendly on All Trails and it’s not. It’s posted that no dogs are allowed.

I decided to drive to Telluride, Colorado from Purgatory Resort. I found a short cut and found this amazing trail (Black Bear Pass). Of course, I did my research before going. I read some reviews on how technical and dangerous it can be. To be honest, it was fun and not as bad as it looks. As long as you are paying full attention, focused, and staying within your limits you will be ok. My wife was a great spotter to make sure I did not fall off the cliff on those tight switchbacks. This is the most scenic and beautiful off-road trail I have ever been to. It may be short but seems like a lifetime of amazing views. I would highly recommend this trail.

This is a sketchy trail. Incredible though. Not a super difficult drive but if you make a mistake in the wrong area it could be your last. I did it in the rain and that added to the sketchiness. The worst part was the steps... just take it slow and you’ll be fine. I would recommend airing down and taking it super slow. A spotter helps but is not a must. Took us about 3 hours. Gorgeous views all over the trail. Did it in a 2017 Tacoma with a 2 inch lift and wrangler duratrac tires.

Gorgeous views and waterfall with a trailhead right in town. Lots of people and dogs.

nice hike. went down into the lower gorge around the bridges and back out. good stretches of shade and sun. some parts a little tough but mostly easy going. went with a 4 and 7 year old who were capable for this.

The 12.2 miles shown on the map is actually Eider Creek +part of Deep Creek+Mill Creek+part of Jud Wiebe trails. The Eider Creek portion is steep up hill. The other parts, not so much. The big drawback is that you have to walk up a boring road to get to the Eider Creek trailhead.

Great hike and great fun. Moderate to difficult west to east but worth every bead of sweat.

Rode this trail with 17yr old son, and what a Great ride! First part is a little grueling with the climb, but well worth the effort for some great down hill biking. Recommend for Intermediate to Advanced riders only. Awesome views of Telluride.

One of my favorites as a local! I used it as a afterwork delight hike up the steep incline and run down. Incredible views of the town. Everyone is friendly and dog friendly. Plus it’s a loop and there are options for more hikes!

Easy trail. Stunning waterfall at the end.

We started east to west and definitely hit the hardest parts first. Beautiful view of the city. A fun little hike.

Hike is beautiful and very family friendly!

lots of people on the trail. I'd recommend heading to the falls instead of doing the loop. and if you're scared of dogs this isn't for you; lots of unleashed dogs with no owner in sight.

Great views! Go west to east to get the most difficult part out of the way first I think. Steep but worth it!

This is a great trail with beautiful views. You can get right up to the base of the waterfall!

Very enjoyable hike within walking distance of downtown Telluride. Nice views. Not crowded.

Yes!

Amazing views!

Family friendly. Crowded though still pleasant. Climb feels worth it at the Falls.

Great hike with beautiful scenery. I highly recommend going up to the falls then going back to where the bear creek trail meets the Wasatch trailhead and continuing along there. Wasatch is a bit more strenuous but worth it. You can also take Wasatch all the way to Bridal Veil Falls and continue along other trailheads if you want a full day of hiking. Great wildflowers along the way and much of the trail is right alongside the water.

Beautiful scenery on the way to the falls, but the spray from the waterfall at the end of this hard climb make it all worth while. However, it is a VERY rocky trail...hard on the feet. It’s also hard if you’re not used to altitude. We calculated 5.5 miles round trip on our GPS. Also, lots of dogs running loose, so be careful of owners that can’t control their dogs very well.

Beautiful views of Telluride

Totally worth the up hill trek! Waterfall is very refreshing and views are fabulous. Easy for kids.

Quick hike down from the gondola. rocks were a little unstable, but other than that, it was a great hike. Great views and beautiful aspen groves. Really nice that bikes aren't allowed on this trail.

Better with snow... just a dirt road!

Traveled with a group of 8 including a 10 year old who did great. The Trail was nice and wide for us. Steady incline the majority of the Trail, somewhat rocky. End waterfall is worth the trek!! The most enjoyable part of this hike are views going up AND coming down! 360 scenery - 5 stars
