Steamboat Springs, Colorado Map

This was a gorgeous hike! Just as many other people have said BRING WATER! Couldn’t believe how many people had little or no water and wore flip flops. Even if you only go to the first falls it’s best to be prepared. More of a moderate hike than hard. Good variety of terrain on trail.

Probably a beautiful hike, only putting 1 star because we were not able to do the hike as there were WARNING signs of recently sites Mountain Lions (mother and cubs) at the at the start of the trail, hence the walk trail was overgrown so we turned back! Just to note, the Lions were sighted 1 month ago here and then on 13th Sept at the start of the Mad Creek walk just beside this walk (which we also hiked but did not realise there may be mountain lions until after).
Beautiful hike but please note above and check the news!

The trail was so hard to find! We walked up past some of the camp grounds and stumbled upon it. And it is not marked or well kept so we got lost and went off the trail a few times. Thankfully I was able to use the map on this to see if our GPS location showed us on the trail still, or which direction we needed to go. This is the only way we knew we had found the trail in the first place. Very pretty, and moderate trail, my little-hiking-experience friend and pup did great on it though. There were I think 4 little lakes on the hike, lots of pines and the weather was perfect today. Very low trafficked, I guess today was the end of hunting season so if you go during this season wear something colorful. The drive up to the parking lot is gorgeous right now with all the aspen changing color! Really really bumpy so you can’t bring a low clearance car up here.

We tried to go here today but there is no parking unless you park on the side of the road which seems awkward

Decent short hike. I think we were a week early for some really good fall foliage. Definitely recommend going on past the mine to where the trail ends at a creek. 4 stars for having to pay $5.

We took the short and easy paved path and had a lovely time and beautiful views! Quite a few people on a Sunday afternoon, but still enjoyable.

Beautiful, moderate to hard, you will not regret it!! My wife and I are 54, from the Midwest and fairly active. We’ve hiked Colorado, Washington, Arizona and California. We loved this hike to the upper falls! Great workout, not too technical, but plenty of opportunities to explore around the falls. Definitely in our list of Top 20 hikes. Hydrate before, during and after!!

Good hike with Ellen. Left house at 11 and back by 2:00 pm.

This was very moderate with borderline hard in certain spots. Continuous incline until you get to the Aspens. Trail is nice but lots of rocks so you may want hiking sticks. Mine was cool and view was great!

Great hike close to town. There are few places near the top of trail that are very rocky and closer to the edge than my wife liked but really doable for most people.

Wonderful trail with several different scenes including beautiful Aspen woods. Nice workout for 68 year old.

It was a nice hike, but very busy with bikers. They were aware of the hikers and courteous to us as they passed. Just a bit uncomfortable for the hikers.

Moderate ???

Great views
Moderate exertion, not for everyone
Steady climb going in
Nice Aspens along the way
Well maintained
Some sections more challenging, rocky and narrow, not for everyone

worst trail I've ever been on. Half way through there is NO trail. It's not a loop, just a huge dead tree, brush and marsh area for about 2 miles. I tried to push thru following the Alltrails map and it was horrible. Do not go!

Take water! Saw too many people on the trail without it.
A lot of people on trail. Not the trail for you if you like solo time.
Aggressive climb up all the way to second falls. Didn’t go to upper lake so not sure it continues the steep climb.
Beautiful scenery, aspen groves and flowers.

Great hike.

Beautiful Aspens
Rocky Trail
Soothing Creek Sound
Multiple Waterfalls
Taxing Hike

Absolutely beautiful scenery! Need sturdy shoes and lots of water. We went up yesterday mid-morning to afternoon, it was 92 degrees, the heat radiates off the sandy trail. Thank goodness for all the shade! Trail is well maintained, couple rocky areas to climb over. Rated as moderate for the experienced hiker, those with less experience or endurance it's going to be strenuous. The gondola offers a wonderful, free, option back down. You can also refill your H2O at the top.

First half of this trail is beautiful, fairly easy, and well marked. The back half is a disaster. If we didn’t have this app with the map and good cell service, we’d have been screwed. The second half is so poorly marked that you don’t even see an option to veer off when you begin the loop. I’d recommend hiking up on the well marked trail for 2 or 2.5 miles and then turning around and using the same way you came up.

The first 2 lakes are beautiful. However, agree with Amanda Miller. We spent lots of times wandering looking for a trail. We found one finally that took us from Summit Lake to the first lake. The app was horrible on a cell phone. Anyway, we did get lost. Thanks goodness for Google Maps and a phone that did not die. Of a 5-6 hour "hike", we spent about 2 hours on trails. I would go again but study a map on the website with the satellite and compare with Google Maps. May not ever use Alltrails again because of this. Made it sound like a simple, well marked trail. Trailhead for this hike is not even marked at parking areas.

We choose bluffs loop trail to introduce our guest to hiking in the mountains before falls creek trail. The loop has great overlooks and the trails were prefect. It’s a nice leisurely 2.9 mile hike that’s great for all fitness levels.

on Creekside Trail

Primarily a bike trail. Must have stepped aside for a dozen bikers flying down (all courteous). The path is hollowed out by the bikes. Many better trails for hiking.

The hike is beautiful but the road up is gnarly. VERY ROCKY, rutted and unless you have an SUV, truck, or very high clearance, it's stressful. Looks us 1.5 hours to drive up from Steamboat - so just a warning. Otherwise, a lovely hike. I would have given it 4 stars, except for the drive.

Fun hike today. Great views of Fish Creek Falls, and the mine was fascinating. Make sure you go to the very end, because there is a cool spot for a picnic at the river.

Great little hike, not too steep, nice view of the falls. The trailhead is unmarked and about halfway between the upper and lower parking lots. It’s on the side of the road with the sidewalk and is next to a big boulder. It’s well worn and easy to follow, you just have to know where to start. There’s a nice historical placard at the mouth of the mine when you get there.
