Nice hike! On the easier side of moderate and I clocked it closer to 3 miles, including all the lakes, but still super enjoyable! Beautiful views. Pretty muddy and snowpacked right now but was fine in regular hiking boots. Went on a Saturday and only saw one other person on the trail.

Completed a little over half in and out. Very scenic and enjoyed hiking along the river. Trail was a warmer-up for a more difficult trail the following day.

This hike was so beautiful, the first but is steep but the rest is pretty easy. Each lake was beautiful and so was the overlook and waterfall. I will definitely do this again

The fall colors are beautiful right now. Great, family-friendly hike

I was here in July, it was beautiful and I knew I need to come back.
so I came back on the end of September for the fall colors.I was fantastic. love this huge aspen forest ,the view and feeling in whole that is impossible to describe

This trail has two separate connections points. You can start at the Erickson Springs campground area or you can begin at horse ranch park, those are the two most popular sections to begin at. If you start at Erickson springs it is going to be a fairly flat and semi rocks trail but it is wonderful and follows the river the whole time. in the summer it is a great time here for berry picking. About 4-5 miles in from the Erickson springs entrance you will hit 2 fairly consecutive bridges. there is great camping on the flat section just after the first bridge. After the second bridge you will ascend up devils stairway which are excellent switchback, not too exposed, and they will begin to direct you up towards horse ranch park. The elevation gain that is referred to here is only after you reach the bridges, otherwise the trail has some grade reversals but nothing too steep or overwhelming. good fishing at Erickson springs.

This is one of the best trails in the section of the Paonia district of the GMUG forest. the climb is gradual and in the spring and early summer there are lots of wildflowers here. Once you get up to beckwith pass there are views to the north of the ruby range where you can see the anthracite valley into the raggeds wilderness. The trail has multiple split points and about another 6/7 miles down you can junction with trails such as castle pass which you can connect with swampy or ohio and make a great backpacking loop. the trail corridor is clear and logged out/

Beautiful, easy hike around the lake. Good family hike.

My dog and I drove up for a day hike and spent the night next to Lost Lake Slough. It is an easy loop route around all three lakes and there is a nice spot for camping on the shore of Lost Lake Slough.

We did the three lakes trail with our 6 yr old son and two pups. Everyone was good and tired after spending a good half day exploring these beautiful alpine lakes. Would highly recommend this trail, especially in late July when the wildflowers are on fire!!

Started at Lost Lake and heading over and down to Dark Canyon. Taking our time in July to enjoy the weather, the views and wild!

This trail really wasn’t worth the drive. The lakes and falls are pretty and the trail is well marked, but the trail was fairly crowded, and there were very few wildflowers (even in mid-July) .

Don’t try to mountain bike this trail, there are too many people. There’s a decent trail that leads off behind campsite #12 and connects to the dirt roads. It was a beautiful and pretty easy ride and not many hikers.
Giving the lake trail 3 stars because while it’s gorgeous, it’s crowded and not for mountain biking which is what we went to do. Drive up from Gunnison via 730/Ohio Creek Road for a fantastic scenic drive, most of the road is dirt.

pleasant, easy home around the beautiful lake. was crowded when i was there, presumably would be of the weather is nice enough to be there.

Stunning hike with lots of mountain meadows full of wildflowers. Not too difficult and worth the effort for the views. Lots of horses on trail, but otherwise not many hikers on a holiday weekend.

Amazing views around every corner. My 4 year old and 7 year old went with my wife and I and it took about 3 hours but worth it.

great hike, easy enough for girls age 10 and 12, beautiful !

This was a great hike! There is some snow on the way up to dollar lake but is passable.

Went on a Saturday late morning. While there was an occasional group of people here or there, for a majority of the time we were alone. Beautiful lakes with views. It is. We were staying in Crested Butte, and it was a short drive. Well worth it and will for sure do it again.

Nice easy hike around a beautiful mountain lake. Great for photographers and families. Very pleassnt.

One of my favorite hikes in the state. Quiet, out of the way, and beautiful. Anthracite Creek is amazingly clear (and can rage in the spring after a heavy winter). Small trout can be caught in the creek.

Stunning. Amazing views and not terribly difficult but it will leave you feeling accomplished.

Went on a Saturday so it was a little crowded but could walk for awhile without seeing anyone. Just backs up at the waterfalls and lakes. Fairly easy hike and beautiful views. It’s quite a drive up a smooth dirt road with so many great views of lakes as well. We were coming from marble. We were able to take our time at each lake and let the dogs play and cool off in the crystal clear water. Did a little fishing and caught a baby rainbow trout. I would do this hike again any day so worth it.

Great trail with stunning views! The campground isn’t open yet (as of Memorial Day weekend) but you can park and still walk up to the trail. The hike to the second lake is easy with zero snow, when you start to head towards dollar lake, there’s some snow pack on a tight steep trail that we ended up turning around because of. There is signage missing at the waterfall but the trail continues toward the left, not across the stream.
