Don’t try to mountain bike this trail, there are too many people. There’s a decent trail that leads off behind campsite #12 and connects to the dirt roads. It was a beautiful and pretty easy ride and not many hikers.
Giving the lake trail 3 stars because while it’s gorgeous, it’s crowded and not for mountain biking which is what we went to do. Drive up from Gunnison via 730/Ohio Creek Road for a fantastic scenic drive, most of the road is dirt.

pleasant, easy home around the beautiful lake. was crowded when i was there, presumably would be of the weather is nice enough to be there.

Stunning hike with lots of mountain meadows full of wildflowers. Not too difficult and worth the effort for the views. Lots of horses on trail, but otherwise not many hikers on a holiday weekend.

Nice easy hike around a beautiful mountain lake. Great for photographers and families. Very pleassnt.

Stunning. Amazing views and not terribly difficult but it will leave you feeling accomplished.

Great easy lake hike

On a holiday weekend plan on BIG crowds. Expect great views, but lots of noise on most of the hike during a holiday weekend. Great if you want to play in the water and hike!

This hike is tough! The views are awesome but 2+ miles of rock field is exhausting. Also the trail is non-existent even outside of the rock fields. I would recommend just going around lost lake and then up a bit part way through the fields - the whole way is not quite worth it, in my opinion!

Perfect first hike from lowland

Lots of snow still up high, and lots of talus/scree hopping. Some of this gets loose, steep and sketchy on the route I chose. Up high, I followed a previous hikers AllTrails gps map, but had to deviate due to snow. My route only got to the ridge that you would scramble up to get to the summit. It was getting late in the day, I was alone, and a little scared of the loose talus ridge climb, so I bailed, to return another day!

Our favorite hike in Colorado. We typically hike 14-15 miles round trip. Some of the most stunning, picturesque views I've ever seen.

Went in late August on a Sunday morning. Didn't see too many people, really nice wildflowers were still around. A nice trail through aspen trees with mountain views and rolling hills.

The views are incredible, and you don't have to do the entire trail to enjoy them, I started at the Ruby Anthracite trailhead and then turned back at the creek. The trail gets VERY steep as you go down into the canyon to reach the creek. I just went in mid-September and the aspens were a phenomenal bright yellow. The other time I went was August and there were lots of beautiful wildflowers. Definitely recommend and will be going again in spring!

Very nice trail through aspen, huge pines (?) and wildflowers (we went in early August) with big, wide mountain views. We parked across from Horse Ranch Park on Kebler Pass and went up 2 miles to "Beckwith Pass" and back down. 1.5 miles up you can take a right and go 3 miles to Lost Lake Slough. At Beckwith Pass there are 2 trails that continue on. One to "Beckwith Bench" and one to "Soap Basin" and "Swampy Pass". Very little information about these posted. A little bit of water on the trail for dogs. Lots of sun exposure. Hike took us about 3 hours with a nice lunch at the top.
