This is a beautiful Trail but it does intermingle with various mountain biking trails. I hiked up the mountain in the signage going up is very poor without a GPS you'll likely not to stay on the trail. Coming down you can obviously see where the trail goes. So many of the trails intermingle here that it's hard to stay on just one. There is a Sierra loop trail that is very well-covered and green and lush. There are other parts of the trail where you're simply walking on a forest service road.this would be an amazing sun ride or sun set hike. we started hiking it at 7 in the morning and only saw one other person hiking the same Trail. At 9am the downhill mountain bikers began and they littered the mountain.

Fun trail. Great 360° vista from the top.

This hike is on the Snowmass ski resort. Park in the parking garage in the Snowmass village, then walk up to the trail head at the base of the Elk Camp gondola (approx. 200-300 yards). The trail is moderately steep but about 70% of it is in the forest (in the shade) and very beautiful. As you ascend, you will occasionally hike under the gondola. I strongly believe the reported mileage of 1.9 miles is overstated. Hiking at a very easy pace (our 4 person group just arrived two days before from home (elevation 700 feet)) it took us just 1.5 hours to reach the Elk Camp restaurant. We took the gondola back down the mountain. Be sure not to hike on the mountain bike trails, as the bikes fly down the mountain and will run you over! Lunch at the Elk Camp restaurant was great!

From the Elk Camp restaurant, you have the option of taking one of two trails higher up the mountain. The Sierra Club trail is a beautiful 1.9 mile (mileage is overstated!) loop that is about 60% in the forest. It took our group less than one hour to complete the loop. At the "Y" in the trail, if you go right, the trail is steep (in places) and in the sun for the first 30 minutes. Then the traverse and descent are in the forest (in the shade). If you go left at the "Y", the first part of your hike will be in the shade and second part in the sun. We did not take the summit trail as it was too long (estimated time RT is 3 hours) and steep.

Easy and beautiful

Definitely on the harder side of easy. Instagrammable spiral point is absolutely worth it.

Best views are at the front half of the hike. The creek at the end is great for little kids. Mostly open.

Hey this trail does not let dogs in the loop

Greatest trail in Snowmass. Start at Vista trail to gondola and then stay to right and pick up Sierra Club Loop to Summit trail. Beautiful views, moose, creek and the most comfortable trail to walk on (almost like a carpet inside the tree path). The summit’s views of maroon bells is breathtaking. Take the chair lift down to the Gondola, have lunch and then take gondola down and all for free!!!!!! (Except lunch of course!)
Your knees and hips will be happy!!!!!!

If you take the loop, the South side of trail passes through the ski area where there is work being done. As a result you have to make your own way around the machinery. The trail is picked up on a gravel access way which is not particularly scenic. If you take the nature trail from the lot and work your way east and north, the trail is very nice for half the loop.

Great short hike in Snowmass. Lots of variety of foliage and great views from the top of the sleigh ride trail back to village. You can see a natural occurrence between the pine and aspen trees here that’s super cool. It’s known that they compete for sunlight as they reach for the sun and grow together.

Great little trail to help acclimate to the altitude. Beautiful wildflowers, beaver dams, aspen groves, and Mountain Views.

The Apple maps and google direction to the trail head is screwy at the beginning. Drive past the residential homes and they’re ample parking. Scenery decent, good family hike, some of the route first mile (and last mile) on a service road which SkiCo uses to shuttle workers up to elk camp.

We continued along rabbit run with the dog and a 9 and 2 11 y/o. Probably classify as moderate to easy. Definitely easier than starting at base village.

Completed this as a day hike on 6/23. No snow crossing at all. Took approximately 7 hours round trip. If you’re thinking of doing this hike, go! Weather was amazing and the views are unbeatable.

This trail was GARBAGE! Primarily because it WAS NOT a trail. I would give this 0 stars if I could. Not kid safe, not dog safe, not people safe. No sidewalk on a windy uphill road. Terrible experience.

This is an okay trail. Not a lot of coverage and A LOT of mountain bikers with blind turns and a narrow path.

Easy and fun trail for kids. We went in early June and it was very green and lots of wild flowers. Also saw two beaver dams along the way!

Very pleasantly surprised by this trail!! Staying at Westin Snowmass and just wanted a quick hike with my wife and 4-year old daughter before dinner. This trail was absolutely beautiful in late September with yellow Aspens and even an abandoned log cabin!!

Start out early to minimize traffic that develops by mid morning. Heart rate increase at the beginning and also on the return - if you walk the complete trail. Powering through on the return made for an awesome hike!

Parking is limited so arrive as early as you can. It's a moderate hike with a gorgeous scenic view at the top. The well-known yin yang is at the top of this trail. Great picnic spot!

You will cross some of the ski slopes. Gorgeous views. Very easy until you get to the bench with the overview then it starts to build an incline.
