Love the fall foliage and how peaceful and covered this hike is! The only negative is that the trails are not well marked. We got to the top of one trail (honestly not sure which one) and there were 4 others but only one was marked.

Cool trail, not hard at all. Saw 4 fisherman in the river and 2 on the trail. Picked a nice spot to chill by the river and had lunch and a fatty, def coming again

My novice butt had some difficulty at times but completed it and felt great after!

Trail was nicer that I imagined. So happy I found this only ten min from my house!

Good trail for an easy outing. We drove up 8 miles from the Sedalia enterance and finally came to a 50" trail. We will hit that trail next time. That trail is not located on AllTrails.

Great hike! Definitely has some good inclines which make for a nice workout. The view at the top is awesome! You can see all of Denver; downtown, DTC, Chatfield. Highly recommend it.

Comfortable crushed gravel path. Completely exposed trail from about 1.5-3.5 miles. Elevation doesn’t get much over 7k feet. Nice hike!

Had a rough go today. About halfway in, as you ascend 4-5 rock steps, the trail appears to go straight. It doesn’t. Look back to the right and there 8-10 more steps to get you back to the trail. We missed that, and ended up on a fishing access trail dead end. Daughter got stung by a wasp, twice, and that was the end of our trek. Maybe we’ll try again another day. Trail’s not bad - really narrow and washed out in a few places. Nice and cool down by the river.

You feel like you’re in another world here. Prehistoric almost. Tons of trout in the South Platte River. The trail to the reservoir was gorgeous and maintained for the first few miles. The trail isn’t well marked and we lost it several times and ended up in a couple of very sketchy situations. Either way, it was beautiful!

It winds through some trees but most of it is exposed. The burn damage is eerily beautiful. It would be best to hike early morning or evening.

Drive in along the South Platte was very pretty. Arrived around 6:45 and it was 45 degrees near the river. I did the first 5.5 miles (to the intersection with Raleigh Peak road) as an out and back. The first couple miles is exposed due to the fire but was cool during that time of day. Remainder had good cover. Saw around ten mule deer on the way out. Good views of the valley and river.

we did a short out and back on the steeper section of the trail. nice trail through a pine forest with a couple nice lookout points.

Went before the fire. Start early, especially this time of year. The Sun gets annoying when you arent in the woods.

Got there at 8am on Sunday morning, the parking spot was almost full(only 2 spots left). The first 0.5 mile was with some shade but pretty exposed after that. Bugs but no mosquitos. You hike by the shape of the river, so you don't really need a map but where you turn around is not marked and it's a totally random place so if you want to follow the map, you may need to download it. I only ran into 4,5 hikers/dog walkers and everyone else was anglers. It was beautiful but it was getting too old and boring. Also easy, not moderate. These reasons, I have given 4 stars. #42 08/18/20

Was a great hike didn’t get to finish the rest of it we ran out of water. Brought (23 bottles between 6 of us and a pup). Very narrow trail, make sure to let your pup in the water got super hot really quick for our (husky 10month old). Ate shit a couple times but that’s the name of the game! Happy hiking.
