The right side of the loop is well defined. Walked to the end of the offshoot and the water is a marshy pond. The other part of the loop is overgrown and hard to follow.

Beautiful trail! The waterfall at the end is actually quite substantial. I would highly recommend this hike!

Hiked today. The aspens are a really pretty bright green right now with the early leaves. There were lots of wildflowers, including wild irises. As others have mentioned, there's a tricky muddy/swampy area to get through near the beginning of the trail. We arrived around 9:30 and there were 3 parking spaces left but the lot was full just a few minutes later. The trail did not seem overly crowded. The outhouses are still closed. I don't find the Red Feather Area to be as scenic as some other areas of Colorado but this trail is a nice early season option with decent views while we wait for the snow to melt at the high elevations.

5/31/20 - Really beautiful trail! There are a couple parts with significant mud, but they are small sections and most of the trail was dry today. I loved the meadows and the aspen and the rock formations. The incline is fairly gentle and primarily on the hike back out. The falls were moving fast and had plenty of water and it was a nice end to a lovely trail.

Real easy trail for those with little ones or those in need of some time to kill. Wildflowers have begun to bloom, which make the short journey worth it. If you have more time, take the Lady Moon trail to Disappointment Falls. We traversed over to the falls from the end of the trail after reading one of the reviews below. I do not recommend it. It is steep, slippery (moss and pine needles on smooth rock faces) and lots of fallen trees.

Gorgeous hike! It's still muddy in some places, one spot is easier to avoid than the other. The waterfall had a nice rushing current and the wildflowers are starting to come out.

Good for a mud season hike because there is very little shade on the trail. At the end of May 2019, it was in the 70s and completely dry. There is a look out at the end and a couple lumps of rock you can see in the distance, but no sweeping the stairs unless you’re willing to climb up Mount Margaret. Nice and smooth and not very rocky. Would like to go back and check out the divide TrailAnd the frog trail.

Trail was pretty muddy and areas around the streams had standing water, but to be expected when it rained and snowed all day and night before. Most of the trail after the hike down into the valley was solid. Flowers are starting to come out. Going to be a real pretty hike for the next month or more. Probably saw about a dozen people today (Memorial Day).

Wonderful day to take this hike. It is very easy and just a beautiful walk through the valley. It is interesting to see how this area is coming back a fire...down trees, new growth. Not sure when the fire was.

Backpacked this over last weekend. though took a different route. Started at camp Lake Trail head treked along the river to the rawah trailhead and went up rawah trail. So conditions to the waterfall are great. No snow. But there is a little creek thats overflowing now and you have to cross it using a fallen tree. Doable but need to have good balance or you get wet. Passed this point waterfall is amazing. After we went up farther at around 9000 ft you start seeing snow and trail is super wet. We made it to the lake located at 9500 feet and camped there. There are couple spots available for camping. Overnight it snowed we decided to push on but super fast hit snow again now fully covered on trail. It was at least knee deep. We kept pushing thinking it was going to get better, but it didnt get better, snow just gets deeper and there is more of it. after making it to 1000ft we decide to turn back there was no point to continue unless you have snowshoes. Plus if we didn't have GPS no way we would have found the trail. But it was still an amazing backpacking trip. There are lots of great places to camp in the valley. Definitely will be back later in summer to finish this loop.

Pretty good! We went up to dowdy lake and started at about 9. It is pretty flat and we only saw a handful of people. Started getting pretty hot during the end of our hike and the dogs were getting hot because there isn’t a lot of shade!

Great day hike! We got there around 11:30am on a Tuesday. Not very busy and the parking lot wasn’t packed. We hiked 8 miles total. The ending was very anticlimactic, but still a beautiful hike. Fairly flat. I recommend scrambling up the rocks at the end to get a better view.

Got there around 11am and lot was very packed. Super easy and flat trail with lots of areas and additional trails to veer off to. Not really a “mountain” but some rocks to crawl up to at the end if the trail for some good views.

Did a one night backpacking trip and hit all the major places! Did it solo and only Mt Margaret trail was crowded, other trails were quiet and dispersed camping was in abundance!

We headed to Deadman to survey the area and 'recon' camping sites for later in the Summer. Unfortunately , the road was closed to motor traffic just past Fire Route 502. What we did see was an easy (2WD Passible) road that was fairly heavily trafficked. We had luck finding a few spots to camp on side routes 90% which were accessible by stock 4x4 grocery getters (no offense intended) and higher clearance 2WD. Will head back later in the year to check out the rest of the road.

Fabulous trail. We weren’t expecting to hike, just wanted to drive around. But this trail was too tempting. Managed a leisurely 1.5 miles out and 1.5 back in chacos without a problem. Not tough at all. Our dog loved it!

Trail is great! Beautiful. Well marked. Flowers. Cool rocks. And lots of options to explore around it

Hiked this two weekends ago and it was great! The parking lot was full but didn’t run into as many people as I expected. Definitely some muddy and a couple runoff areas to cross but the falls themselves were flowing and beautiful. Some nice views if your looking for something pretty easy as well as a gorgeous drive on the way up!

Unfortunately the free range cattle Have ruined this trail along with so many more. I don’t understand why one rancher in order to save money on food is able to destroy a pristine public area Leave the gate open - let the cattle out Hike with wire cutters cut the Barb wire
