Beautiful views on this trail. If you are new to the area or inexperienced at mountain biking I would rate this as very difficult. But if you are up for a serious leg burn the downhill is epic!

The views are amazing on this hike! It is well trafficked on the lower rim but the upper is pretty quiet. Enjoy!

Nice morning hike. Not too hard. We started at 7:50 and finished by 9:20 so we missed a lot of the sun. Great views!

Hike completed on 9/5/ 2019. Started at 8:45 got back to Car at 11:20.2 miles up took us an hour and 30 minutes. The first half is extremely steep. The views from the top are incredible. On the way down it would be very helpful to have tracking polls. This is especially true for the last half. The sign at the trail head indicates that there is a second trail which is slightly easier to the mine however there’s no signage throughout the trail to point you in such direction. Would do the take again but would start earlier.

This is the 3rd time I’ve climbed Mt. Garfield. It is challenging, but worth it. The accent up isn’t too bad, however coming down is a bit nerve racking with all the loose dirt. I’d recommend trail shows with significant tread and/or hiking poles. We started around 7:15am and completed the hike around 11:15am. We spent a few moments up at the summit and enjoyed some snacks. This would be a beautiful hike either sunrise or sunset. Don’t forget your head lamp!

Strenuous but totally worth it! Would definitely recommend poles as the hike back down can very very treacherous with the loose dirt this year but overall absolutely beautiful from the base to the summit!

Very pleasant on a very pleasant day with the grandkids. And, yes, all the dogs were off-leash but very well-behaved.

A nice hike outside the town. Some good views of town and petroglyphs along the way. Most of the hike is desert and dry, but still pretty

Beautiful hike with great views of the Grand Valley. Abundant wild life including Lizards, Red tailed hawk and Falcons. Anasazi Petroglyphs and cool rock formations. Lack of shade makes this moderate 3.3 mile hike more difficult. Nearly 100 degrees on our day so bring plenty of water and sunscreen.
