Definitely a moderate hike, I was a little out of shape when we went but it was a blast. We went at 6:30am and there was plenty of parking and it was a beautiful trail!

Wonderful hike in the winter with frozen falls!

The best hike I’ve ever done!

We are from Minnesota and have never experienced anything like this hike before. The views are gorgeous and the water at the peak from the waterfall was breathtakingly worth it!!!

Loved this trail. We went early on a week day and it wasn’t too busy. Make sure you bring cash or check to pay to get in. Short walk to the first waterfall and we went for another mile or so with our two little ones. There were some beautiful views! We loved it.

Great trail, beautiful Aspen forest, dip in the pool below the upper falls, but not for those who aren’t cardio fit. It’s a stairclimber for the first 3/4 Mile and a good 1.5 hours to the upper falls at moderate pace with a fairly level section around halfway. Lots of scrabble, so wear a good hiker for trek down.

Guys, DO NOT CONFUSE THIS WITH SEVEN FALLS! For one, this is free. Also, I had much more fun here.
Keep going up the mountain/road after Helen Hunt falls and you will see a huge parking lot. Go west through the gated dirt road and then after 0.7 mi (according to GPS/Fitbit) you will see the 622 post. My husband and I had fun taking pictures at every bridge we hit. I really enjoyed this hike. From the parking lot to the end of bridge 7 and back, my Fitbit clocked 3.47 mi.
There seems to be paths everywhere, but remember the whole path is along the creek. If you think you’re getting too far away from the creek, you probably are.

Ok, I feel like I need to "normalize" all the reviews here for this particular trail. It was a great trail and spectacular views, but even if you are in good shape this may be a workout and a half for you. Granted, we are from NY and not used to exercising at 10,000ft... you will notice the slight reduction in oxygen going up this hill. It took us a good 5 hours out and back with several stops to look at the views and a 30 min stop at the top for lunch. We met several other hikers that were having a tough time and one group quit just 30 min from the top. If you are not used to Colorado hiking, bring 2x the water you think you will need and snacks to get you through. Don't get me wrong, it was a great hike but the reviews here make it sound a lot easier than it is :)

Love the coolness of the trails through the forest. The bridges are pretty well maintained. The views are amazing.

Soooo crowded-went around 10:30 on a Saturday so not surprising. Pretty hike with 2 waterfalls. The one at the top is big and really pretty!

I completed this hike during the week in mid August 2018. The trail had a few people on it. I had heard that it was often crowded on the weekends. I hiked well past the seventh bridge staying within site of the creek. After I hiked across several steep sandy parts void of trees, I was in the trees again. I could see what I thought was the summit. The weather rolled in, it started to rain so I turned around and headed out. I will return to this trail again.

Beautiful lake - the trail could use some better markings - it is easy to wander off but overall a good portion of shade and relatively flat.

Mix of sandy, rocky, hilly and flat. Trail is narrow at times with heavy brush surrounding. Made it to 2nd falls. Took just over an hour each way. Some sun and some shade. Bring plenty of water. Can be challenging in places. Worth it to get to overlook.

Simple and straightforward hike. I would say it is very family friendly. Well shaded and cool with a creek flowing through. The area is extremely busy on the weekends.

I’d give it 5 but the first bit is quite busy - we went on a Sunday and everyone plus their mother was there. The second waterfall is glorious, and was much quieter. A quick swim in freezing water is just the tonic, and there are some beautiful views on the way down. Really easy to reach from Steamboat Springs too.

Be prepared for a workout! Hiking uphill almost the entire way to the top. Pretty rocky. The view is worth the hike to the top though! Just watch the trail carefully— it’s so rocky at the top, I took a wrong turn 3 times coming down; the trail is easy to use, especially since people have created a bunch of little cutoff trails to get some good views. The waterfalls are beautiful!

We only did the trek between the boat launch and the dam but it was such a relaxing walk and the lake views were spectacular. It was perfect for mindfulness walking practice. So peaceful.

My family (including my 2 year old) went on this hike on a Friday morning. We got to the parking lot around 8 and it wasn’t too busy. The walk along the road is about .5 mile, then you turn right at trail 622. It’s not well marked. After the road it is beautiful, shaded, and a little rocky. My son loved going over all the bridges. Great family hike! On our way back (around 10:30) it was pretty busy and the parking lot was full.

Trail is very pleasant but could have better markings. Great for day hiking with family or pets.

Love this trail. Not too crowded. Saw only 1 other big group after us. Not too buggy by the lake. Very steady incline to the top which is very doable. No scrambling and no treacherous segments. Only a few fallen trees but easy to walk over. Nice view from the top even though the fire outlook is out of bounce. Saw the same deer twice which was really cute. Saw multiple ospreys and one nesting on top of a tree by the lake, which was amazing.

Nice easy hike for any skill level. Once you get to the trailhead, rest of the trail is pretty much shaded and cool. Few doggy poops and bags were spotted but not enough to ruin my day. There were no bugs, no bathroom and no hiking stick is required.

Amazing! Not an avid hiker and was able to navigate well. Bring water!!! Hiked to the second falls after turning back half way earlier in the week...so glad we went back! The views and scenery are so worth it! Will head for the lake next time!

Hot. Very exposed trail with little shade. Halfway the trail dips down and it was water covered so we couldn’t do the whole thing. Pretty disappointing!

Very nice trail. Difficult to navigate. Lots of beautiful scenery, a couple waterfalls, cool mining site. Lots of shade. Worth the trek. This is also a horse trail so watch out for horse poo.

Really beautiful hike along the creek. Was gorgeous after a light snow the night before.
After the 7th bridge we continued up the trail-622-Seven Bridges to Jones Park. We encountered a large adult brown bear at the aspen grove on the trail. He was not aggressive, but interested in us.
We called the Colorado Park and Rec to report and they said he has been hanging around there for about a week and is deemed not aggressive. Make sure you have your bear spray and are aware of what to do in an encounter.
It was worth the adventure because the meadow was so pretty.

Very pretty drive from Fort Collins to this great, dog-friendly trail. Nice breeze , wild flowers, birds singing, some people fishing, couple paddle-boarding...a few hikers made a really nice Sunday outing. I’ll definitely go again.
