Easy and beautiful scenery, plus close to the amphitheater and other lookout points as well

My family and I have always enjoyed the scenery along this quick and easy trail. The crowds and parking can get really out of control though. I would suggest going on a weekday or even later in the day on a weekend.

Horse poop everywhere. I don’t think it’s worth the $10 to get in.

3.8 miles 1950 ft elevation. Awesome hike for how short it is and close to Denver, we did it in the evening for sunset and there was a show going on at Red Rocks below. Some sections are pretty steep and sandy, trekking poles recommended, definitely wear decent shoes. Final scramble to the top is lots of fun.

Many huge red rocks to see. However, I think the most worthwhile spot is the amphitheater.

Watch for rattlesnakes. Not small dog friendly

Beautiful Trail. Very little tree coverage so plan accordingly with sun and heat.

truly easy, but good scenery

Quick and easy... nice view!

I’ve hiked this trail today and it’s a very beautiful trail. It doesn’t follow the red rock trail for most of the hike, it turns onto a black trail. But it’s absolutely worth it. You can also choose to continue following the red rocks trail, it’s an easier trail with less ascending. However if you are in a decent shape, take the black trail via the top of the mountain for beautiful views of the city. Watch out for rattle snakes, I’ve seen one sunbathing on the trail. More people have seen them a lot sunbathing.

Great trail, parked in at entrance so the uphill portion was first and had an easy downhill second half. Was a beautiful day but beware they have concerts most nights so plan to hike early.

This trail is flat and way overcrowded.

This was a nice easy trail. Great for all ages and skill levels. Beautiful scenery and close to downtown Denver! There isn’t much shade so wear sunscreen or bring a hat if you’re going during the day. I good place to bring out of town guests and take pictures.

Nice hike with limited shade so sun screen or an early start is best. Nice views of red rocks area and worth the “walk”.

Great trail with your kids! Nice and well maintained. Our 5 and 7.5 year old did not have any issues and want to come back.

Great short hike! I intended to do the 3 mile Red Rocks Trails but ended up doing this one instead. Mostly did it for the views of the rocks and would be fun for family/friends who are in town and want to see Colorado things. Got there close to 8 and the parking lots were completely full but we found a space. There weren't actually a lot of people on the trail since I think most were there for yoga!

Awesome hike, great views!

This is a good trail for someone who doesn’t have a lot of time and can’t go far from Denver. Easy for all levels and the view isn’t bad either.

Nice hike close town. Easy trails with great views. Ruins are pretty cool. Good sun and some shade along the way. Several trails you can add on or not to make the trail shorter or longer to your liking

Great, challenging trail with beautiful views on all sides! By the end of it, my watch said 4 miles round trip with 1,963 ft elevation gain. I’d advise starting pretty early if you’re going in the summer. We didn’t get started until around 10:30 so we got to the top around 12:15. Coming back down was a little too hot! Total, it took us an hour and 45 to get to the top and an hour to get down. Make sure you bring plenty of water and maybe a couple of snacks!

Good trail, lot of exposure so plenty of water and sunscreen a must in hot weather. Also watch out for rattlesnakes, had a close encounter with one today on the trail.

Go early, this trail is exposed and gets very hot, too hot for dogs midday.

Warning: Part of the powerline that follows the trail unhooked and fell crossing the trail. I didn't see any exposed wires, but I wasn't keen to find out if it was active or not. Easy enough to step over.

Great hike, nice views, but saw two rattlesnakes (7/17) on our way down Turkey Trot. One was quite big and one was a bit smaller. Just be super careful because they’re really hard to see if they’re just off the trail.

Really enjoyed this hike. It was cool and foggy, but it was still lovely. Pretty easy hike if you’re in shape. The ruins are fascinating.

Don’t be deceived by the tourist hot spot nearby, this is a real hike. My watch clocked 2 miles to the top and an elevation gain of 2,000 feet. Bring plenty of water and sunscreen. The hike itself is rewarding with great view at the top. Wear sturdy soles shoes, the terrain is craggy. Definitely worth doing.

Was great for beginners. Not too rocky depending on which path you take. Didn't see much wildlife though, aside from a ton of butterflies and grasshopper. I would say light trafficking but I got there at 9am and stayed to 11am. (on my way out there were a handful of people coming in)

Nice short hike with good views. Went on a Monday around noon. Some people on the trail, but not a lot. Lots of places to park for free. Took just under an hour round-trip for my wife and I. It was 90 degrees and sunny and there’s basically no shade the entire time so bring sunscreen and a hat/sunglasses. Elevation isn’t too bad, but it gets a little tougher in the heat.

Wow, this was one of the fun trails I've done in the past! Unfortunately my phone died while I was recording. The weather was perfect for it, (72F, cloudy) so we were able to handle 90% no share trail was not too bad.

Short but challenging and beautiful hike. This is great 14er practice without committing a full day or travelling far from Denver.
