Go early, this trail is exposed and gets very hot, too hot for dogs midday.

I'm surprised that this trail has such high ratings. The 'beginning' of the trail on this map is actually all the way across town, you have to walk through almost all of Morrison just to begin the hike. So odd. Then when the hike actually begins its nice for a mile or so, followed by a verrry long and hot walk very near a golf course and with great views of suburban homes and at one point even a home depot. I think this trail is probably much better suited to mountain bikers...and there are definitely A LOT of those. I'd say drive the extra 30 or minutes or so and get yourself to a better trail.

Great hike, nice views, but saw two rattlesnakes (7/17) on our way down Turkey Trot. One was quite big and one was a bit smaller. Just be super careful because they’re really hard to see if they’re just off the trail.

Really enjoyed this hike. It was cool and foggy, but it was still lovely. Pretty easy hike if you’re in shape. The ruins are fascinating.

Was great for beginners. Not too rocky depending on which path you take. Didn't see much wildlife though, aside from a ton of butterflies and grasshopper. I would say light trafficking but I got there at 9am and stayed to 11am. (on my way out there were a handful of people coming in)

Nice short hike with good views. Went on a Monday around noon. Some people on the trail, but not a lot. Lots of places to park for free. Took just under an hour round-trip for my wife and I. It was 90 degrees and sunny and there’s basically no shade the entire time so bring sunscreen and a hat/sunglasses. Elevation isn’t too bad, but it gets a little tougher in the heat.

A great place for a quick trail run. Challenging, but you wont die.

Wow, this was one of the fun trails I've done in the past! Unfortunately my phone died while I was recording. The weather was perfect for it, (72F, cloudy) so we were able to handle 90% no share trail was not too bad.

Great trail that gets your heart rate going and wonderful views. Went up the castle trail up to walkers dream trail and took turkey trot on the way down. Saw a deer on the way. Effort to views was ideal

Very well kept trails, easy trek before sunrise to top of Mt. Falcon with great views of Denver

Relatively easy hike. Decent incline at the beginning but then it was more rolling hills than steep up and downs. Moderately busy and a beautiful area!

Great morning hike. Good 8 mike hike! Great views, wild flowers and decent climb. Decently traveled today with a lot of mtn bikers and hikers.

Great trail with access on the west and east ends. West end is a more gradual slope–perfect for kids. The east end has great views towards Morrison, Downtown Denver, and Red Rocks.
We hiked from the west end of the Castle trail out to the old ranch house and cornerstone of the attempted Summer Whitehouse. On the way back we added the Meadow and Tower trails to the south to form a loop.
If starting in the morning from the west, I would recommend the reverse: Meadow, Tower, then Castle. (Castle Trail is shaded whereas Meadow is not)
Good map in this app, but maps available to print by searching “Jeff Co Open Space Mount Falcon Park.”

Fun hike would do it again. Great addition to the rest of that area. Added over 5 miles to it and we were there about 5 hours.

Pretty good hike, it's fun to explore the whole area. Meandered through and went on other trails here and spend about 5 hours here. Moderate hiker.
Devil's Elbor was a nice addition.

I went on a Monday morning and not a lot of people! I will do this one again soon! Just be mindful of the private residence and drive slow on the road

After reading reviews my daughter and I decided to tackle this hike. We started up Turkey Trot which then connected to Castle trail to go to Walkers Dream and then down and to the right for the ruins. Whoever put this as moderate is plum crazy. The hiked kicked our butts!! Highly suggest taking Turkey Trot to connect to Castle trail, it is definitely more covered than doing the Castle Trail to start..what also no one seems to mention is the extensive up hill switch backs, it was a struggle. Not recommending for beginners.

Wide trail from the parking lot- good for all ages. Rolling path. Nice views from the castle. Interesting info signs. Trails are well marked.
Was there by 8:30 and top lot was full. Saw a couple deer.

Nice way to spend a Sunday morning. Welcomed the shade from the hot sun. Well traveled by all ages.

on Turkey Trot Trail

This is a great trail to take folks on who are visiting from out of town. Just enough elevation gain to feel like a hike, but not too long or intense. Especially great for kiddos and pups, since there are no bikes allowed on the Turkey Trot portion of the trail. The first 2/3 of the trail are not shaded so go early (or late) and be prepared for full sun. The last 1/3 is in the trees and lovely before the loop connects to Castle Trail. Be on the lookout for snakes in this area, we saw one bull snake on the way down Castle Trail. He was off to the side but very hard to spot until we were right up on him.

Really cool view with Denver in the background. Even though it’s a shorter distance trail, still works you a bit!

Fun easy dog friendly hike.

Hot! Good incline really pretty views, lots of butterflies. Clean bathrooms. There’s a nice incline on the way up and we did the turkey trot loop so the decline was easy. It took about 90 minutes we did stop for the views

FUN AND EASY HIKE WITH THREE KIDS.

nice easy loop. went on the 4 July. wasn't as busy as expected. took my three boys under 7 and my 10 year old nephew.

keep in mind this trail and it's proximity to civilization. one of the only "closer" trails I do to Denver. with that said if you want a more enjoyable experience get there early

Great park where you can pick and choose trails, difficulty, and length. No shade coverage anywhere so very hot and exposed.

Worth it for the views

nice easy hike with tons of nature and exploring opportunities!

Typically a busy place on the weekends, but enjoyed less crowds on a late Friday afternoon. This one is an ass kicker... steady incline most of the way up, so it's a good leg workout! Plenty of other trails to connect to, to make a longer hike if you want. Seen a turkey dart across the trail, a deer & a rattlesnake on this day, so watch your step! Lots of places to stop & rest or just take in the scenery & views.
