View is worth the steep, but short hike

Short and sweet. Very steep in a lot of places. Worth the view though.

I would give this trail 3 stars but we had the lake nearly to ourselves. There is a bunch of erosion and deadfall on the upper half. No snow on June 23 and plenty of water for the dog.

Good conditioning easy / moderate hike. Long traverse up side of a ridge, then pretty flat to Chapman Lake. Chapman is pretty much filled with water lillies

Still some snow patches. We lost the trail a few times going to the second lake, but eventually found it. Beautiful scenery.

Great trail, bit of a long drive to get to. Starts out going up right away, about 2 hours to 1st lake. Probably one of the prettiest settings in the valley.

Loved this trail, easy enough to do with the kids. Next time I will do the loop & go to Carter Lake from the top. Bring a rain jacket.
