You can hear cars driving for the entire hike. Probably good mountain biking trail.

nice easy trail with options for more advanced nearby.

This is a long one up lower then upper big bluestem trails until you reach shadow mountain for the main climb. Took the time to do both south boulder and bear peak which is easily doable and there are better views of downtown boulder from bear peak. There’s a rock that looks like Trogdor!

Good lunchtime ride. I dunno if the new fee is worth it otherwise. Not really a "destination."

Very kid friendly. $5 parking unless park across road. Very short walk to trail. Lots of flowers and view is beautiful.

Loved it. Easy hiking. Lot more friendly for Mountain biking. I did the north loop. The south is long and recommended for biking.

Easy hike with some good views, but there is little to no shade and you don't really get that feeling that you've escaped civilization, as there are buildings and roads visible for a good portion of hike. Nice hike if you just want a quick walk though, and my dog enjoys it! Will end up doing it again.

My go-to hiking trail. Quick 3 miles, 50 minute hike.

Great for running

Easy hike with easy parking and access. Little to no shade. The trail is pretty and easy to follow, but can see the highway during most of it. Nice hike when you are short on time and don't want to drive too far.

Beautiful one hour hike today.

Gorgeous loop with views of canals, the plains, mountains, etc. Great spot for a trail run, photo walk, hike, and a quick jaunt through local history.

Very free flowing trail and lots of fun. One of the trails that would make me wanna do it again! :)

This is my go-to trail run. it's just over 3.5 but you can add on more mileage at various locations where the trail meets up with other trails. Great views and awesome terrain.

this is an awesome, easy trail just a few minutes from Boulder. it's flat/stable enough that i brought my mom here when she visited, and she walked it without trouble. if you're on foot, you will have a couple of close shaves with bike riders - why nobody uses their bells, I have no idea - but it's a pretty view and a really nice walk.

Great easy going trail close to home. I have been here many times and it is very nice in all seasons, especially in spring when the fields are full of colorful wildflowers. My dog loves being off leash here, but be aware that cyclist may sneak up on you. I have also encountered some (surprisingly friendly) coyotes and grazing cattle in this area so make sure your dogs are within sight. Also some really interesting gold mining history if you read the signs and pick up a pamphlet at the trailhead :)

A very doable hike with great views and not much elevation. The bicycles sneak up on you.

Great clean trail. A little crowded on weekends.

I really liked hiking this trail - there was a lot of mountain bikers on the north and west sides, but pretty quiet with only runners on the south and east sides of the Marshall Mesa Loop trail (where its very flat). I did the entire 14.7mi loop starting from the marshall mesa trailhead.
You have to pay to park in this area, but I found a large free parking lot (weekends) across the street from the entrance to the Marhsall Mesa / Community Gulch trail head start area.

did the Marshall Mesa Loop - Community Ditch, Coal Seam-3.3 miles, very easy loop. Time I went in Feb, really nothing to see, flat, brown & bare. Met couple of women riding horses. Maybe the trail looks better in spring/ summer.

Make sure to check out Brother's Lookout!

Excellent running trail! Also connects with Doudy Draw

great trail for kiddos. there isn't a lot of shade in the summer though.

Fun trail, easy hike, would recommend. To bring the dogs

Gorgeous trail for fall. A bit too open during summer, very little shade or water. Beautiful views of flat irons. Pretty wild flowers. LOTS of bikers using trail, but dogs can be off leash with green tag.
