I walk or bike here often as it's a comfortable, flat trail to walk, dogs are allowed and it makes for a gentle walk given the more strenuous hikes I often take. The views are great and it also connects to the Highway 36 scenic overlook where there is a FREE bike pump to add air to your bike tires.

No shade and a lot of open space. Better for biking or running. Some inclines on a well defined trail with gravel maintenance in some spots. Sunscreen is advised and cattle do travel through the area. Horses would do well on this path, provide you can find parking for your horse trailer. Kids would be easy to keep in sight. Bike maintenance post at the Coalton Rd entrance.

Beautiful, easy trail... my only complaint is the gravel path was super bumpy ... aka not stroller friendly! Other than that, gorgeous views and a great walk

This trail is a good workout. Trail had a few other bikers, a couple of runners, and a few hikers. The route consists of a lot of road and a fair amount of single track. The single track rewards you with some fun technical stuff and the roads allow you to take it a little easier. I’m from Texas so some of the climbs are steeper and longer than I’m used to but nothing too serious. Come out and enjoy.

We live nearby, and I walk my dog here multiple times a week. Great dog park, easy trail with great views. Lots and lots of bikers, and right near housing but still a great place for a walk. You can either walk a mile loop or the full 3.3 miles.

Not good for hiking pretty boring scenery no cover. Pretty cute prairie dogs in the beginning

Great flat place to walk with a great view.

Short flat loop around Harper Lake is absolutely beautiful in the late afternoon sun. Lots of geese!

Flat, dog friendly. Not a lot of shade though so be gentle on your pupper.

Fun trail for riding all-road or endurance bikes, but a little crowded with children and pets to safely bomb through. Still, a great local gravel trail for getting in a solid weekday ride - just take it a little slower and little more cautiously.

A couple nice sized bull snakes hangin around sunning themselves across the trail lately too...

Really nice ride overlooking green pastures with mountains in the background. Some of the ride is next to a stream and some is through cow fields. Nice variety!

This is my 2-3 night per week exercise loop while the kids clean up dinner. It is very pretty and more of a neighborhood area. I add on some of the coal creek trail to make it an extra mile or so. Nice at sunset and sometimes you'll see coyotes.

Like most people have stated, this is an urban hike/walk. Flat land, well maintained wide trail. Quite a few dogs (adjacent to the dog park) and bikes. The dog owners are conscientious of picking up the dog byproducts so that is not an issue. Good view of the flatirons. Just went today so heat wasn’t an issue but due to the lack of trees (zero trees) I bet a hat and sunglasses are a must in the summer months. Regardless of the weather, it is always a good idea to bring plenty of water. Bottom line: Nice urban walk.

Great open well maintained trail on this huge hill with amazing views looking down on boulder and the flatirons and foothills. Trail starts right next to the dog park with a bunch of ways to loop around for shorter or longer routes. Not a lot of elevation change pretty flat the whole way. Had a kestrel following us tree to tree towards the end.

Loop not marked, got lost but still got 11+ miles on trail. nice trails, but if you're wanting to do the loop, take your map.

Overall great trail for a 14 mile run. Can get rocky at times but not too technical. Would recommend bug spray for marshy areas. Not much cover so it can get very hot.

Walk the pup here. No shade so best in the morning or evening.

First time walking this trail. I feel like it's better suited for bikers or horseback riders. The wide trail offers little ground cover; and it was HOT. Easy parking.

Good for a quick walk if you live close but don't make a special trip to check it out

Better for a light mountain bike than hiking. Pretty mellow but there is no shade. You do get pretty good views of the flatirons from the top.

There was a couple of benches with good views, but there were too many that if you sat there you could think you were in Kansas. There was one tree I liked too.
