We live nearby, and I walk my dog here multiple times a week. Great dog park, easy trail with great views. Lots and lots of bikers, and right near housing but still a great place for a walk. You can either walk a mile loop or the full 3.3 miles.

Great flat place to walk with a great view.

Flat, dog friendly. Not a lot of shade though so be gentle on your pupper.

Easy trail, good for after work walk and running

Like most people have stated, this is an urban hike/walk. Flat land, well maintained wide trail. Quite a few dogs (adjacent to the dog park) and bikes. The dog owners are conscientious of picking up the dog byproducts so that is not an issue. Good view of the flatirons. Just went today so heat wasn’t an issue but due to the lack of trees (zero trees) I bet a hat and sunglasses are a must in the summer months. Regardless of the weather, it is always a good idea to bring plenty of water. Bottom line: Nice urban walk.

Great walking/jogging trail with great views. Can be a bit windy so dress for that.

waneka lake part is a nice walkabout. lots of people and dogs. no poop! Hecla part goes next to neighborhoods and yards. good overall place.

Great open well maintained trail on this huge hill with amazing views looking down on boulder and the flatirons and foothills. Trail starts right next to the dog park with a bunch of ways to loop around for shorter or longer routes. Not a lot of elevation change pretty flat the whole way. Had a kestrel following us tree to tree towards the end.

Walk the pup here. No shade so best in the morning or evening.

Better for a light mountain bike than hiking. Pretty mellow but there is no shade. You do get pretty good views of the flatirons from the top.

There was a couple of benches with good views, but there were too many that if you sat there you could think you were in Kansas. There was one tree I liked too.

I love this trail. it's long enough for a decent workout, but short enough to not kill me for the day. the prairie and the mountain view is gorgeous. easy parking and a dog park. generally flat walking space.

Very pretty and spacious place to take your doggies to play :) and around the dog park there are more trails that are neat to walk around on as well.
I definitely enjoy this place

Such a beautiful park! Very large off-leash dog area which is nice for the pups. Many trails spanning the area, very scenic and easy to get to. Plenty of parking

Easy, flat prairie loop with the wind rustling across the grasses, gorgeous view of the Flatirons, however, the hideous power lines disturb said view. Decent walk for when you're lacking more time to drive further.

nice view, flat terrain, near dog park

Wouldn't call it hiking, more of a nature walk. Well maintained path with a couple gentle inclines. Saw very few walkers/runners but was very heavily trafficked with mountain bikers. Lots of cattle around/along the path so if you happen to have a fear of livestock, then avoid this trail.

My everyday walk. It's flat with pretty views of the mountains and a surprising feeling of wilderness considering its proximity to Louisville neighborhoods.

Amazing wild flowers. Beautiful at sunset. Very small, mostly flat park surrounded by residential development

Great views lots of flowers! Not so bad hike except for dog poop from lazy dog owners

Fairly nice trail. Not very busy. Mix of runners and bikers. Pretty exposed without any shade. Great for trail running with a little one in a stroller as long as you have a decently rugged jogging stroller. That's what I've been coming to the meadowlark trail for, getting a run in between my 1 year olds naps.
