It was nice the last time I was here, about 1 year ago. A bit windy in winter. Not sure if the 1 star reviews recently are due to something temporary that may be wrong. I'll have to go check it out. I have taken 3-4 walks here in the past 4 years and enjoyed all of them.

Park to park trail run along dry creek with great views of the foothills and mountains west. Trail is a really wide paved path so plenty of room for runners, bikers, dog walkers, etc.

I have run here in every season and at every time of day. It is spectacular no matter what. The prairie dog colony on the back side of the lake is a fun addition. Great views of Longs Peak and the surrounding range.

Love LOBO trail! Scenic, nearly all dirt path from Boulder to Longmont. There are certain areas under canopy of trees in cute neighborhoods, but it's largely exposed. It's a hilly route if you are comparing it to the ride along the Diagonal, but can be handled without changing gears much. Watch for signs directing you back to the trail at the few points in which it emerges into the city and the trail is on streets/sidewalks.

Lovely walk.

no shade. nice that dogs must be on leash. no poop bags available be sure to bring your own. rocky trail with fairly good incline especially for beginner. go on a cool day!

smelly nasty lake with blue green algee and dead fish. go to McKay instead.

This was the most disgusting lake (if you can even call it the) I’ve ever been to. It’s more like a sespool of algae and nasty ness. Smelt like we were in a porta potty. They should fill this in. I hope they don’t get their drinking water from here.

Not really a pretty trail but nice views at the outlook.

Great WALK (definitely not for hiking...if you are coming to hike here, you will be disappointed, as it is flat) this is a nice walk around the lake. I have lived in the area for a very long time and the park keeps getting busier and busier. It makes me a little sad, but I am glad to see people out exercising. There are fish, potential birds, and the lake of course!

Great trail for running! I’m training for a half marathon and did 11 miles, could have done more if needed. Great views and refreshing creeks along the way. Definitely bring water with you, not much shade!

Nice easy stroll. Very limited shade, so it can be a bit hot in the middle of the day.

This is a nice easy walk with beautiful Mountain views. Flat with little incline anywhere. Part of the loop is closed April through August 31 for bird nesting area. Saw two herons...looked like great blue but not quite sure. Enjoyable and pleasant

loved it! we even heard and saw a bald eagle! 1st hike for our Blue Heeler, abs she loved it.

Fun trail but I’d rate this moderate vs. easy if you are a new hiker or going with kids and/or pets. There is quite an incline! Our kids and dogs LOVED this trail but if it’s too hot out, you may want to steer clear, because there is absolutely no cover - 100% direct sunlight, very dry trail. 2 benches to stop and rest: one is halfway up and another at the top. Nice rocky pathways in some areas, cactus to see, a few trees, views are gorgeous! Watch out for rattlesnakes though. We didn’t see any, but there were signed warnings everywhere.

Really a nice walk and in general a fun open space.

The weather was nice and warm on the way up but got cold and rainy on the way down. The hike is scenic and close to Longmont. Very rocky trail though. Great views at the lookout point.

You can pick up this trail at any point, and there are a few parking lots along the way. Walking southwest, you can see the Boulder Flatirons for the majority of the time. There is a creek along the path at points, as well as a small lake. This is a great easy hike for those new to hiking or perhaps going on or after a date. Great overall!

Nice views, wildlife and birds, mostly level with lots of people. I live close by so this is my morning run.

This is definitely easy. But you can get some good steps in since the trail circles a pretty big lake. Great view of the mountains. We also saw a lot of prairie dogs and the lake is very nice.

super easy trail for running, walking, and biking. Not too scenic but a great trail for a quick 3.5 mile run.

nice loop, pretty with mountains in background. Too much cement on the east side. good in town run.

Beautiful views! My 4 year old enjoyed and the flowers, grasshoppers and ladybugs along the way!
There isn’t much shade so I’d recommend going on a cooler day or overcast.

I had a great hike with my friend & my two dogs. we all enjoyed it, our first time here. great views, perfect breeze, good for all skill levels.

Easy ‘walk in the park.’ About a third of the trail is paved, the rest is very well maintained dirt/sand pathway. Great Rocky Mountain and foothill views that stretch from Fort Collins to Golden. Compliments to the city of Longmont for creating this great local open space.

Nice connection trail between Boulder and Longmont. Trails follow along open space and through some residential areas in Niwot and Gunbarrel. Follow trail along 119 for a bit until you get up to longmont. Follow trail south past Twin Lakes to take you into north Boulder. Lots of birds and prairie dogs along the way and have seen coyote and deer as well. Easy to bike or to walk/trail run.

Nice short evening hike with the dog. We saw a few deer so I very much recommend not letting your dog off leash.
