Nice trail. Great scenery.

The weather was nice and warm on the way up but got cold and rainy on the way down. The hike is scenic and close to Longmont. Very rocky trail though. Great views at the lookout point.

You can pick up this trail at any point, and there are a few parking lots along the way. Walking southwest, you can see the Boulder Flatirons for the majority of the time. There is a creek along the path at points, as well as a small lake. This is a great easy hike for those new to hiking or perhaps going on or after a date. Great overall!

Nice wide open space with lots of happy dogs and a lake. no elevation to speak of so not really a work-out, but certainly beautiful.

Beautiful views! My 4 year old enjoyed and the flowers, grasshoppers and ladybugs along the way!
There isn’t much shade so I’d recommend going on a cooler day or overcast.

Nice pleasant hike with a lake and lots of happy dogs in it. Best during the week.

I had a great hike with my friend & my two dogs. we all enjoyed it, our first time here. great views, perfect breeze, good for all skill levels.

Nice connection trail between Boulder and Longmont. Trails follow along open space and through some residential areas in Niwot and Gunbarrel. Follow trail along 119 for a bit until you get up to longmont. Follow trail south past Twin Lakes to take you into north Boulder. Lots of birds and prairie dogs along the way and have seen coyote and deer as well. Easy to bike or to walk/trail run.

Nice short evening hike with the dog. We saw a few deer so I very much recommend not letting your dog off leash.

Ok short hike on the front range. However, I was forever having to drag my dogs away from piles that other owners have left- not pleasant!

Nice hike with just a little short uphill that’s a little rocky but easy. Lots of people and dogs. Parking lot has restroom, trash & recycling, & picnic tables. Be warned that parking lot is small and even though it may seem reasonable to park in the area signed for trailers as several people were doing, DO NOT do it! I got a $35 parking ticket :(

Pretty spot, but the loop trail is under construction. Now a short out and back. Check construction status before going.

Every now and then we pick this trail as an alternative to Eagle Wind (on the other side of the road) though generally Eagle Wind is nicer imo. There's a daredevil pilot who hangs out here a lot so you might get to see some of his acrobatics, which is kinda fun.
As is true in this whole area, there are a lot of rattlers here so keep your ears open and your dog close.

Easy trail, narrow in some parts. Very dog friendly which was awesome. Good casual hike.

Definitely a favorite spot to take our dogs off leash. Views are as beautiful. Usually a few people fishing and lots of other friendly dogs. If your dog likes to swim, he'll probably just ask you to leave him there and come back tomorrow...dock for jumping and loads of easy entry places.

Easy flat walk around a reservoir with open space all around and flatirons and foothills in the background to the west. Saw a bald eagle and lots of waterfowl.

I am not sure why I chose this trail on the VERY windy day, Although this is shorter than the other trail, the footing is much harder with many many many rocks. Did not have much view as the clouds rolled in.

Beautiful sunset walk around Coot Lake with amazing views of the flatirons in the distance.

Not as easy as you'd think from easy rating, but definitely worth the effort

There is now a 5 and a 1/2 mile loop out on the prairie here that I would rate 5 stars for horseback riding and jogging

There is a new 5 and a 1/2 mile loop out on the prairie that is excellent for horseback riding and jogging .

Decent, easy hike. Not a lot shade, but a few benches to rest along the trail.

Great easy hike and fishing trip for the family

Pretty and easy trail. No water or much shade though so pack extra if you bring the dogs!
