First time on the trail and really enjoyed the ride. Plenty of room for everyone, and covered areas along the way if needed. The surface is well maintained with only a few areas of loose gravel and I never saw a rut! The parking lot was packed (Saturday) by 11:30 but there was a stream of people leaving so you shouldn’t have to wait long.

Nice stroll through open space. Lots of birds and beautiful rock formations. Gentle

This trail is our daily walk after dinner. Close to home with beautiful valley views. Wildflowers are sparse however birds are plentiful. We enjoy the temperature changes throughout the walk.

Good for easy evening biking. Not crowded - just you, nature and horse poops :)

Easy hike.

The ride to the dam is very smooth and relaxing. The road is wide enough for two car, so it's easy to move around all the people traffic.

I recommend going the opposite way and going through the wetlands towards the State Park for a more adventurous time.

Did the last 5 1/2 miles of the segment as an out and back on 6/2. Tons of wildflowers in bloom right now. Much of this part of the trail is shaded, so it’s nice to do on hotter days. Nice, quiet section of the trail, only saw a small handful of other people.

Best hike so far, we did the 10 mile loop, intense at times to get your heart rate up, then moderate level to catch the views!

although hot, beautiful and the views were magnificent!

Such a great park for an evening stroll. The people were friendly, the trail was gentle and there was lots of wildlife and scenery to enjoy.

More of a walk than a hike but I still loved it. Went a few weeks ago and it was drizzling so there were very few people on the trail. Went a couple miles and then turned around. So beautiful!

Probably a good trail for biking, but for hiking it was not great. Most of the trail I had to place my feet directly in front of each other to walk. Views weren't great and it goes through a neighborhood for about half a mile. The trail was nice and quiet though, not very many people hiking even on Memorial Day weekend. Plenty of geocaching on the route too.

Well trafficked trail on Memorial day weekend. Easy going trail with some good views and awesome wildlife. Finished in under an hour with plenty of time to take it all in.

easy loop for family and pet

Beautiful hike! Pretty moderate but long. I went Friday at around 11:00 AM and there were times where I was the only person on the trail for miles. The mud has dried up so no need to worry about that, and there are plenty of trails that branch off if you want to visit a new area! Over all a great hike! Clear directions, trail is wide in most areas and easy to follow.

Beautiful trail that’s wide enough for mountain bikers, runner, and hikers (until you get to the national forest/Indian creek trail/Colorado Trail). I saw about 20 bighorn sheep in close proximity about 6 miles in. The only slight downside was NO WATER FOUNTAINS except 2 by the start of the trail. The trail has full exposure to the sun and there is little breeze. The crowd begins to thin out a little past 3 miles (with the exception of mountain bikers). I ran into one other trail runner on the loop.

We live close to the trail and this is one we love to hit up when we need to get out! Beautiful views, easy parking, great trail!

Easy trail with really beautiful views. My friend and I did the trail in the late afternoon which was really nice. Not too many people/dogs, sizable parking lot and clearly marked directions along the way.

Fun trail run.. ran from start of Waterton Canyon to a few miles above Lenny’s rest out and back. The lower canyon up to the dam is nice and gradual - great for any easy hike or ride with the Family. Some great elevation on the single track above the Dam. Unfortunately views today were restricted with low cloud cover above the dam.

muddy today! pretty sloppy in spots.

Beautiful trail close to Denver. Easy, nice path, well maintained. Nice views of the foothills and red rocks formations. Highly recommend for an easy day hike.

Nice hike to start our hiking this year

Perfect for trail running this time of year! No mud and lots of beautiful views! It’d be a little hot in June/July since there isn’t any coverage on the trail. The road/trail is very wide so it accommodates all the bikers, runners, and hikers (including strollers) just fine!

Perfect trail for running! I saw a baby rattlesnake and lots of bighorn sheep.

Saw a coyote so that was enjoyable. Easy basic trail sign a steady incline. High trafficked trail.

Parked at north trailhead- beautiful scenery , wildflowers and a few birds. Many intersecting trails so slightly confusing. gravelly and sandy at parts so might not be for strollers or the non surefooted. Very little shade. JeffCo does an impeccable job of maintaining trails. Toilet and picnic table at trail head. My dog loved It!

Fun trail on a beautiful Colorado day. Lots of people and dogs on the trail. Me and my 4 year old did the loop.
