Great trail, slight incline up to the dam. Was hoping to see the big horned sheep but they were nowhere to be found. Will bike this trail again.

Peaceful but nothing special about the views

This was a wonderful wildflower hike and challenging enough for my two kids, 7 and 10, to prepare them for our longer hikes in the high country. The Fountain Formations all along the Front Range are always amazing. I never get tired of the view! Bring your binoculars. Fall migration is upon us and the birds love Roxborough. Soo much to see and do! Great proximity to home to be able to enjoy in the winter without having to fight traffic up the hill!

Happy 100th Anniversary Denver Water! Hello CT Segment 1! I'll be back for more when the cooler weather starts setting in! My husband and I took our kids, 7 and 10, 3 miles through the canyon. We saw a REALLY big snake (either a Bull snake or a Rattle snake that just shed it's skin) cross the road in front of us. I would say it was about 3 feet long. We also saw some kind of small lizard and tons of birds. Bring your binoculars! Keep those kids on the trail and eyes peeled for snakes, especially just off the roadsides. This 'walk'/hike was a warm one for sure, but very mellow at the beginning. Would love to make it to the dam sometime.

Went counter-clockwise and said I was really glad I did! Upper-80s today (8/11) and full sun. Ideally I’d do this trail when it’s mid 70s. Really enjoyed how much the terrain changed and suddenly we were in the woods! Good quick but well hidden geocache on the trail too. Was somewhat disappointed the only animals I managed to see were birds, dogs and humans.

Nice easy trail to ride walk or run and it connects into the Highline Canal Trail.

boring for a hike and people fishing have absolutely trashed the lake. very disappointing.

Nice trail. Wide trail, good one to take the kids. Go early, very sunny, no shade. First mile or so is a gentle up hill. Beautiful rock formations! Close to Denver. Coyote trail is not clearly marked on the return, bring a map along.

Beautiful scenery, very easy, great for kids and visitors. You have to pay the state park fee for Roxborough.

Great views. Nice moderate hike.

Nice easy flat trail. Kids loved watching the ducks and the views were pretty. Only downside is there is no shade.

This trail was so much fun for my whole family. My kids easily did this 2.5 mile loop. There is a lot of history at Roxborough Park. Be sure to check out the little house by Washington Park. Also be sure to do the little Lyon Overlook on the east side of this trail. Great photo op! We will be back. So worth the $7 state park fee for this park. There is also a nice visitor center at the beginning of the trail. If you can watch the short video inside it’s great, 10 minutes max. They have a nice picnic area in front of the visitor center. Also a water bottle refill station in available near the bathrooms.

Great trail for walking.

Decided to check this place out since it’s so close. We walked, I wouldn’t consider it hiking because it’s a gravel service road up to the dam. After about mile 3, the crowds thin out. Will definitely be back to bike. Views were pretty, saw herds of big horned sheep on the road and on the rocks above. Lots of people fly fishing.

Easy hike pretty views

fun as always.
as of today, there is no flowing water after the damn, it's dry

Love this trail. The rock formations are beautiful.

Good area for a nice ride. This isn’t for adrenaline junkies as you are riding on a road. That said, it’s not a bad spot for a quick ride and a little exercise.

very boring crowded trail. wouldn’t travel for this one

short, sweet and scenic

Moderate difficulty when traveling clockwise. Shaded, rocky incline followed by an open, easier descent. Nice views towards the top, and you can see Denver in the distance.

The trail starts at a slow, but steady rise for 3/4 of the trail. We went about 9am on a Tuesday in July. It was hot and humid (having rained the day before). Fairly quiet, easy for 65+ crowd. Near the tops, 2 planes came out and kept circling - so the noise was now annoying vs. quiet and serene. There were lots of flies at about half point and further up. We think this trail will be good after the first frost (getting rid of the flies). Did not take the Columbine Trail loop, but may next time.

short, goes through subdivision. pretty flat.

Easy track for a nice run with pretty views! It has very little incline; my watch said only about 70 ft. elevation gain. Also there is close to zero tree coverage so be sure to keep that in consideration!

Paved in concrete entire route. A couple benches, pet friendly, and lots of connections to the greenway.

The sun really beats down on you and there isn’t a view that you are making a goal towards to see. But it is nice to be next to a river and also to sometimes see Big Horn Sheep.

The trail is poorly marked, especially on the west side.

Great off leash trail for dogs! Lots of spots for pups to get in the water. Definitely a 5!

More of a dirt road than a trail. Well packed but plenty of room for bikers and walkers/runners. Would recommend getting here early as it does start to become very popular around 8-9am. I got here about 7:15 and it was perfect!
