Nice easy hike, get there early, people who like to take up the entire trail show up in groves at about 9am through the rest of the day.

Cold in the morning but warms up quick, got there just before 7am and it was a zoo when leaving.

Nice, easy hike. Nice leaves but fairly boring otherwise.

Went Friday 9.14, arriving late morning. Traffic and parking was a zoo, first 20 minutes were the selfie-stick and flip flops crowd, but then it thinned out. Worth the crowds as Aspen at peak. Would rate this trail Easy+. Perhaps rated Moderate due to the 10,000’ elevation start, but very little gain.

Very popular trail and for good reason - the aspens steal the show. Not a hard trail. Great for all levels. Start early. The crowds take away the peacefulness of the mountains- that’s the downside - but we all want to enjoy.

Important- Bathrooms are closed due to high maintenance costs. Other than that- beautiful Aspen colors but pretty crowded!

Great foliage and great hike with kids. VERY CROWDED.

Great ride most the way. Some points narrow to just a little more than a 4-wheeler. Need good clearance and good tires too. Stopping places to eat a packed meal are many, and beautiful. Summit is beautiful.
We also went on up from the GP summit to another trail which was good but a narrow road with a lot of steep drop offs for a good ways. Summit view there was wonderful too.

Beautiful, the Aspen's are peaking.

Colors were at their peak - absolutely stunning! Got there at 7am (Sunday 9/16) and wasn’t crowded yet. Tons of mountain bikers and runners , eventually thinned out the further we got. Easier hike, and just could not beat the views! We took about 4 hrs, but it’s because we kept stopping to take so many pictures. Got back to the cars about 11am and parking/285 was a madhouse. Expected though for this time of year and area - still well worth it!

Got here on Saturday around 830. It was peak foliage, and the crowds were insane. This time of year you have to just expect it there. That said, the colors were outstanding. Lots of people on the trail. We kept going on the Colorado trail another mile to get away a bit more, and that was well worth it. Take your dog, but make sure to keep it on leash. One family was yelling for their dog for a good 15 minutes because it got too far away. A must do this time of year!

Fall colors did not disappoint! The trails were crowded, but that was expected with the Aspens at their peak of color change. Once you were a ways down the trail the crowds kind of thinned out, but you were never alone so not a good choice if you are looking for solitude. Beautiful vistas at several points along the way. I do consider this an easy hike. The only down side today was that the bathrooms at the the East side trailhead are closed unless you want to pay $7!

Beautiful trail with a stream the whole way up. Fall colors are about at their peak. Loved the variety of terrain and scenery plus a nice challenge with some steep areas and decent elevation gain. Only saw 2 groups of people coming down when I was heading up on a Saturday afternoon. Spent 30mins up at the lake with absolutely no one else around. Saw a huge bull moose just about 30ft away on the way down. Will be adding this to my repeat list.

I made it about halfway up from the North side, coming from Breckenridge, before I had to turn around. I drove through two water crossings before hitting a steep section with loose rock and slid about 20-30 feet downhill, backwards, into the water! Had good tires, but that doesn't mean anything when you are on loose rocks. It was pretty nerve racking but everything turned out okay and next time I may try it from Jefferson to Breckenridge - sounds a lot easier coming that way. The top of the pass is deeply rutted and a bone shaker - so I hear. I would suggest a good 4 wheel with adequate clearance. Make sure you wheel with a buddy in case something happens. Lots of great campsites!

9/14/18.... Colors are within one or two days of the peak. Crouds are already at their peak.

Well groomed trail with beautiful views of the mountain range and the valley. Aspens were at their peak color.

Great hike, I go every year. The leaves haven’t fully changed yet, I expect next weekend to be a good weekend to go. Hiked just over 5 miles out (10 rt), was a great day, the first 2 miles were people but less as we went further.

Beautiful trail to see the aspens. I arrived at 7:40 and it was not very crowded. Left around 11 and it was madness! Lots of bikers. Easy trail and gorgeous views

Went Aug. 11 from the Jefferson side. Regular dirt road 'til the top of the pass. pretty rocky the first mile and a half or so. A stock 4 x 4 can make. Just make good decisions over rocks. Good family trail. A couple geocache's to find. pond. lots flowers. drinks at marina. good times.

lovely walk in the woods with some amazing views!

Fun trail and we only saw two other people on a Saturday of Labor Day weekend. 8. 6 miles round trip according to my RunKeeper app. Enjoyed the lower 2. 5 mile section probably more than the upper. Well-marked and easy to follow.

Hiked the trail today with my wife, and even with the weather threatening nearly all day the hike was fantastic! We arrived at the trailhead later than anticipated at 10:30 after eating an awesome breakfast in Dillon. Somehow I guess I didn't anticipate the trailhead being something like 90 minutes from Breck in one of those mountain "can't get there from here" situations. Even at 10:30 we were only the fourth car in the lot, though there were a ton of campers along the creek. We only encountered a couple other kind folks on the trail, and none headed up when we were because of the threatening rain.

The hike overall was challenging for us, but not by any means "Hard" rated. After the creek crossing we huffed and puffed a little to get to the top. We were rewarded with awesome views and I had a chance to sit and glass for mountain goats (we saw some!). We were worried we didn't get to the "end" of the trail but saw a post in a carin that was otherwise unmarked. If we'd have kept going we'd have went to and over the pass itself -- not really the plan today.

Great day trip. North side is rough but the south side is not much more than a gravel road Trail markings on the north are good. Coming at it from the south is harder to find the road.

It was an awesome run! Once we got to the top, the sleet started coming in, but the scenery was beautiful. It was disappointing to not see an American flag waving, at the top. So, if anyone makes this run, please take a flag to the top with you.

Only did the first 3 miles due to limited time. I wasn't expecting much at all but I think it will go down as one of my faves! The aspens & views were amazing and the trail was pretty easy. Can't wait to do it again when the aspen leaves change in the fall!
