I live nearby and ride much of this area regularly. Couple things:

1) The loop area marked on the map is part of Highlands Point trails system. Since no one is impressed with the paved paths from Southridge Rec Center, I would suggest parking at the Mountain Vista high school, and short hike/ride up dad clark to get to loop.

2) Be careful hiking/biking, trails are narrow flowy single-track and some sections are in the woods with blind corners. Some sections are fast downhill on a bike. Upper trails, especially near E/W trail can be busy with hikers, bikers, and dogs.

3) All of highlands Point system is labeled 'Easy'. This trail should be labeled 'Easy' as well.

Nice trail close to home

A nice hike with the family. A lot of bikes though.

This is a private trail system for Highlands Ranch Association members. Good to know before you head out if your not a member.

In the middle of a neighborhood with septic tanks everywhere. It was a windy day when I went and it smelled like septic. Not worth if you have to drive to it. Couldn’t find the actual trail, all I found were paved walkways

Easy trail with great views.

Nice easy trail so close to the city but it has pretty scenery and makes you feel like you got out of town. I saw a few mountain bikers and there is a bike maintenance station. It is mating season for frogs so I saw frog eggs. The path dirt and narrow the whole way. I think max it is about 2 miles.

Great little gem close to town. Nice parking lot at trailhead. Fairly easy walking on the packed gravel path for the first section of the East West Trail heading west then gets steeper as you get closer to the West Big Dry Creek intersection. Numerous options including heading into the Backcountry trails if you are a Highlands Ranch resident (bring your Rec center card) or I continued west on the East West trail. Beautiful views in all directions. Not overly crowded for a Sunday morning. Will definitely go back and explore the side trails.

Nice parking lot at trailhead. The first part of the trail is wide smooth gravel high on a mesa. Beautiful peak to peak views and not much development. Then you are diverted off into a hilly maze of single track. I had to dodge quite a few mountain bikes. Bring a good map or fully charged phone. There are lots of opportunities to make a wrong turn. Pretty place with a mountain bike focus.

I wanted to trail run but since I was dog sitting my friend's chihuahua, I only run when she allowed me to. The view was okay, since it was a neighborhood trail, nothing special about this place. I had to cross the road 2x to get to the other side of the trail was annoying. This was just one trail out of 2,500 other trails in Colorado to finish.

This quiet, scenic trail is in the midst of a large residential community.

It pays to look at the map beforehand. There are lots of other trails that intersect with this one.

I started at the trailhead near Sand Creek Elementary School. I ran 2 miles up and back. There wasn't a flat part to the entire trail.

This is NOT a trail! It is a paved path that runs through a snooty rich neighborhood. If your looking for trails do not run here.

I think people are confused as what this trail is. From what I can only see a paved walk way around this area that is smack dab in the middle of a residential area. I don't see anywhere to mountain bike.
I also parked at the Arrowhead middle school, but you park down Brookwwod DR right in front of the trail head.

Definitely park at the rec center. The trail ends at the middle school coming back. It's a good city trail. Lots of bikers.

I really enjoyed this hike once I found it. The directions take you to an elementary school, but if you park at the Highlands Ranch South Ridge recreation center, the trail runs right along there. Yes, it's a paved pathway at first. Just follow it until you cross the road and that's when the real hiking trail begins.

The first couple of miles are on a sidewalk and in a valley between houses. You also will have to cross a couple of streets. After that it's beautiful!
