Great hike, box like rock canyon at the end is shaded and cool after the hot hike. Definately bring some water!

Easy hike with beautiful views, have been hiking this trail for over 12 years, it never gets old. Try hiking it at sunrise, sunset and even at night with a full moon shining as your only light, you won't regret it. I've done this trail well over 200 times as I live a fairly close, that being said if you hike this in the summer you better get there no later than 6am or you will be roasting in the heat on the way back down, happy hiking !

This was a great little trail right at the entrance of the park. It’s very easy to find and follow and offers great views along the way. There is very little coverage from the sun as it used to act as a model t road, so be sure to have sun protection and water.

Beautiful trail with amazing rock formations! Easy enough for the kids but very hot out there bring lots of water even for this short hike.

Nice easy trail. Wide path, great for visiting with fellow hikers and great views.

Nice little hike to a great rock formation. Well worth the walk up.

Great starter trail for my wife and I during our stay in the area. Unfortunately waterfalls were just a trickle as it’s dry. Some boulder scrambling but loved it.

Short and sweet. It was fun to run down, but watch your footing.

This is one of my favourite... the rocks are beautiful the wild life amazing and trail is marked good. Take water and try to make it to the top it’s amazing.

Basically a walk up a steep dirt road. Very exposed - sunscreen and water a must.

Trail wide and well marked until I got to where the trails leaves the wash. Saw only one cairn so I just followed all of the foot traffic which lead me way above the kitchen. Returned back done and figured out where the kitchen really was. The actual Devils Kitchen was awesome.

The best hike to keep in shape.

Do the wedding trail side first as it is a harder trek. It’s a really nice trail.

This was a nice hike last weekend. It was easy, but is made much more challenging if you take any of the other trails.
Has beautiful views and neat rock formations!

Did this trail in mid March - very little water in the pond but still beautiful, relaxing, and quiet.

A great choice for a hike when going with kiddos or those that can't make it quite as far because it isn't long. The end reveals a rock playground with much to enjoy.

Not too hard of a hike but a fun one. I hiked it on a cloudy day in October and actually got above the clouds which was really cool. This trail is wide and is set up for the casual sightseer. It's one of the more popular trails at Colorado National Monument. Took me a little over one one hour to hike up and down at a casual pace. The views of the Grand Valley, Mt. Garfield, and the Bookcliffs are stunning.

Very enjoyable hike. Great views of many of the formations in Colorado National Monument. Most of the trail is very easy. The only difficult part is going up the cliffs up to Rimrock drive but the views of the Coke Ovens are worth it. I saw tons of Bighorn Sheep on the trail. Also, you can turn this trail into a loop by going on the Wedding Canyon trail. It connects back up with the Monument Canyon Trail near Independence Monument.

Hiked the trail yesterday. Great trail for beginners and experienced hikers. Also if you like bouldering and going off the trail this is a good trail to hike.

A nice ride for green horses and riders EXCEPT for irresponsible dog owners who use it as a dog park. One solution to avoid the dogs is to ride the Kodels area. I would not recommend riding up to K-12 as the slick rock gets narrow and dangerous. Trailer parking is easy at Opel Hill and the start of the trail is directly across the road. Riding around the Snooks Bottom area is an option too- it’s easy and lightly traveled but not as scenic.

I like this trail for kids and visiting relatives as it has great views of the valley and really easy paths. However unlike this site’s description, I would not consider it lightly trafficked. On the weekends it feels like a superhighway and I often end up closely following groups of people up the first half of the hike. Also I have noted several illiterate tourists that still bring dogs. This can be frustrating with all the heavy traffic.

We took this hike with a 2 year old, three 4 year olds and a 7 year old. Many fun rocks to climb on but a lot of cactus if you get off of the trail. Many trails in the area so we hiked some of No Throughfare Canyon Trail, but the creek, holes and waterfall are completely dry. Overall very easy hike to avoid the snow.

Have done this trail 3 times (once by myself, with mom, and with Jay). It is easy and brings you to these large rocks you can walk through and see a view of the town below and on the other side a view into the canyon. Went at sunset with Jay and as it became dusk there are lots of bats that live within the cracks of the rocks, awesome to see and hear them flying around looking for dinner.

My first hike I did in the monument when I moved here in June 2017. Went the opposite way (top->bottom->top) but a cool trail! Lots of switch backs which are always fun. And lots of people trail running!
