Great 30-40 minute hike. I did Sporting Times to Anna Trail to Chicago Rd. Nice incline before getting to Anna which is really shaded, flat, and beautiful wooded hike. Took a stop by the rapids at the end by the trailhead.

Did it 6/4, definitely didn’t need crampons or anything as all the snow is melted. Parked at the gate, but the road opened for the season this afternoon. Started raining around noon on and off. Lovely views, just a few people to share the peak with on a Thursday. About 2.5h up from the actual trailhead and much less coming down.

They opened the road to the trailhead at 2:00 so those of us who started early had to dodge cars on the highway to get back to the lower parking.... not a problem anymore... go enjoy a climb... and look for Moose. I saw one before the sunrise

Really nice, short hike with beautiful lake views!

Quite a bit of shade. A very moderate hike, but path is super narrow with steep drop offs ; no social distancing possible. Large groups hiking. Lots of medium sized rocks which activate your brain constantly on where to step next, but good grip, not too many tiny rolling rocks. Bathrooms at the bottom. Almost no parking left when I got there at 10. Had to turn around early because a storm started to roll in.

The road up to this trailhead and Bierstadt is closed FYI. We did some of Silver Dollar Lake instead but there was a lot of snow around the lake and no clear trail.

Pretty crazy trail got about 80% of the way in a 2014 trd off road Tacoma with beefy tires, sliders and high clearance rear end, before being turned around by bad weather. Dragged skid plate and sliders a lot few pretty difficult rock obstacles, good spotter needed and not for beginner offroad driver. Lots of switch backs and tight spots You will definitely test your fears on this trail. Lots of very narrow passes with few turn around spots

Trailhead to Upper Chicago Lake is very muddy. Wear waterproof shoes right now. Amazing views and a few goats! Chicago Lake to Summit Lake is snowy and slippery from a recent storm. I used micro spikes. Summit Lake is still covered in snow, not much to see of it, but the views back to Chicago Lake are incredible. Might want to wait a little longer if you want to see Summit Lake. Hiked: 5/26

The trail the whole way is wonderful. Ended up road hiking past summit lake. On the way down through Chicago lakes to the trailhead there were so, so many people - the vast majority of whom did not wear masks nor practice social distancing or know trail etiquette (up has right of way, etc). Welcome to the summer season people! It’s in full force.

I have completed this trail a few times now in a stock 2012 Jeep Wrangler Sport. It is challenging in some spots and tight spots too. Very rocky and a constant incline all the way to the top. You have to wait until late summer to reach the summit. I tried once in Mid July and had to turn around just after the old log cabins. Great views at the summit!!!

Still a little snow on the trail but other than that it was beautiful. Traction might be helpful on the snowfield between the upper and lower lake but, I managed without it.

1st time 4wheeling in my new JL, I know this isnt a jeep forum, but handled it like a champ! made it as far up as we could, maybe about a mile from the top before the snow became impassable. the top of the slide area I gotta say was my favorite spot to play!

Hiked last August. Very difficult for someone less experienced like me. I was with 2 other guys who are rock climbers and have more experience. Without them, I’m not sure how I would’ve fared. Absolutely worth it though, most rewarding hike I’ve ever done! Definitely get some climbing experience in and make sure you’re well acclimated before attempting

Hiked the summer of 2019 a few hours before sunset - saw one other person and the wildflowers were amazing.

Mostly used as a 4x4 trail. Good condition though. Non stop incline, lots of switchbacks. Definitely a good one if your looking for exercise but feels more like waking on a service road than hiking in the woods. It's beautiful though and has nice views. Light traffic on a Saturday
