I’m not an experienced hiker so not sure how to rate... but very enjoyable... 2 hours ( for me) up to Gore Ridge Trail... then turned around ... I went slowly with plenty of rest stops .... beautiful views along the way... and wonderful smell of the lodge pole pines ... 1 hour 15 minutes down ... although parking lot at trailhead was just about full I really didn’t encounter many people ... the people I did see along the way just gave a friendly “Hi” and carried on ... I post a pic I took at the bottom... pretty much says it all ... steep initially but levels out ... don’t get discouraged! Some areas require navigating over tree roots and rocks but nothing too daunting .... after you get to the Eagles Nest Wilderness Area the trail becomes more interesting... passes in and out of meadows and trees ... very nice!

Lovely stroll for kids and great views. But can get crowded.

This trail was beautiful, well maintained and a relatively easy hike with kids. The lake at the end is a perfect spot to relax before looping back.

Begins with incline and becomes more gradual. Along creek for most of hike.

CHIPMUNKS AT THE LOOK OUT VIEW!! They will come up and eat right out of your hands, they are all around. Beautiful view on the trail as well, short and easy! Definitely recommend! Take some black bird seed the chipmunks love that stuff! Or any nuts!

It was very crowded on a Saturday, so that is to be expected but the trail is pretty narrow. I had to keep wrangling my dog and atepping out of the way from people and other dogs. Also the chipmunks arent scared of people because they get fed so much but subsequently, they arent scared of the dog and will go right up to them and there were a couple times I was emotionally preparing myself for twenty people to watch my corgi carnage and cute little chipmunk. This didnt happen but if your dog is rodent obsessed this is not the trail for you. A dog in front of us barked non stop at them and they wouldnt flee so he just kept doing it. Also be prepared to be asked to take pictures of a lot of tourists. Great place for a hop out of the car and look at the views but I wouldnt hike again...

Absolutely stunning views!

The hike was lovely. Well-maintained trail. Lake at the end of the trail was gorgeous. I saw a moose up close! I went on a Tuesday evening and saw 5-6 other people. Out and back took me about 40 mins total. Worth it!

Short little simple walk to a small pond. Very crowded, tons of dogs and kids at the top.

The trail wasn’t extremely clearly marked, there were a lot of paths that allowed you to make it your own. There were a few extremely narrow spots with a 10-15 foot drop. It was gorgeous, easy. A few people out fishing. I would do this again! Did it 18 weeks pregnant with no problems.

Extremely easy and short loop, lots of cute chipmunks. Did it 18 weeks pregnant.

Awesome easy hike! My kids 2,4,6,8 loved feeding the chipmunks and requested we go back the next day. Grandparents loved the hike too! The views were amazing! Couple fun spots to stop for a picnic and my kids enjoyed the large shelter made of logs.

Super easy, and GORGEOUS Views. I loved it. Not very many people there, had a great time just hanging with my dog by the lake. People paddleboard this, id love to try that too.

Easy hike for a beautiful view. There’s not a lot of shade so bring a hat.

A pleasant, easy hike. We went in July and there were wildflowers and beautiful groves of birches. Neither the lake nor views are spectacular compared to other vistas, but it is still lovely to access nature so quickly from downtown.

We trekked with kids. Trail isn’t stroller friendly the entire way. Had a few two person lifts up and down short rocky stretches. The lake is a great reward for kids.

The trail and lake are fairly exposed and I don’t know that I’d tackle this hike on a hot afternoon.

Very easy but great views!

Awesome little hike and very easy. Kiddos loved it.

Loved stopping along the trail to take breaks and enjoy skipping rocks in the stream. Wouldn’t say it’s a super hard trail, but coming back down definitely did a number on our feet because of all the rocks. Bring plenty of sunscreen though because I felt like only about 25-35% of it was shaded. Beautiful meadows and wildflowers, beautiful streams and water spots. Lots of birds to see. Also saw a moose about a minute into the hike. The trail ends when it intersects with another trail. Nothing too special at the end, but still a lot of great views throughout the hike.

Very rocky and very exposed because of the logging. Went on an overcast Sunday so it wasn’t crowded, and it wasn’t too sunny. Definitely wouldn’t do this hike on a sunny day. Lots of cool rocks to look at throughout the trail. Nothing too special though. One nice view.

Seeing the beavers was awesome. Easy trail.

Nice hike, great workout, and not too much foot traffic! I stopped a few times along the way to enjoy the water. The trail is very dog friendly and the views of the mountains are gorgeous! Flowers, butterflies, and dragonflies are everywhere...so are amazing views!

They should call this dead tree fly trail. most of trail was reasonable as we were covered in flys the whole trail bothering us. scenes were tragic with tons of dead trees cut down, some blocking the trail. maybe after a good fire and 6 years and some maintenance this will be a good trail.

Beautiful views of Lake Dillon!

Beautiful views!! Go early or during week; can get busy. Bring sunflower seeds to feed the chipmunks. So cute. Easy loop walk. Maintains trail.

Easy. Beautiful hike to a gorgeous lake. Clear waters. Couple different spots to reach the water if you are willing to walk/cross some streams. Dog friendly. Can get busy. Go early or during the week.

My wife and I just got done hiking this trail. We are from Kansas, so it doesn't take much to flip our fancy. This trail was very pretty, added a touch of difficulty to us new hikers. Beautiful views of the mountains and a few good looks at mountain streams. I would definately do this hike again!

Easy trail located near downtown Frisco. Great for families.
